I agree with MJ. It's been a few years since the net ban, but good things are always slow to come. It'll get better.

I know one of the big techniques for bass fisherman with a safety pin style spinnerbait is to burn it quickly just underneath the surface. They'll reel it just fast enough to keep it from popping out of the water. The body being below the blade allows it to stay in the cleaner water. I don't know ho...
I'm sure you've already heard this somewhere, but there's two accessories for a kayak that you shouldn't be cheap on. One is a paddle and the second is a seat. I have the older version of the Aqua-Bound Eagleray carbon and like it. It's probably not as nice as some of the higher dollar paddles but i...

Any of the longer sit-on-tops that I have seen don't come cheap in the pocket book. The few dealers that don't price fix are huge mail order places. That is one of my main problems with the kayaking industry right now. All of the manufacturers require their dealers to sell at a certain price, and th...

I'll admit to having anchored in the ICW over at the East end of Choctawhatchee Bay a number of times. You'd be suprised how well a 16' Basstracker takes the 4' wake of a 40' cigar boat doing at least 75. The main thing was that I was anchored over to the side though. I think where you were was fine...

I have a similar pair of neoprene wading boots I wear when kayaking and wading during the colder months. Most of the year though I have a pair of Teva sandals I wear. I got them for like $10 on ebay and really like them. I really like the comfort and lightweight of flip flops, but they just don't wo...

You'd probably want to go with at least a 40# blank for trolling Stretch 25's and 30's. If you plan on trolling the Stretch 40's and 50's you might want to look into going heavier yet. I would recommend going with a glass rod also. Don't know how well a graphite rod would handle the vibrations and a...

If you look around some you can probably still find some of the Fuji removable hookkeepers also. They are the ones that use heavy rubber 0-rings to hold a plastic hookkeeper on the blank. They work pretty well. Or if you want, you can just bring the rods by my place and I'll show you how to put on a...

I have 100# Tuff-Line on one of my 4/0's and really like it. I had 60# Pink Ande on the reel before and just took a good bit of it off and put 150 yards of Tuff-Line on top. I always use an albright knot with at least 25 wraps to join braid to mono. I use it inshore also on three spinning reels and ...
