Just a blowin!! St.Marks 7/4/07

Launched at the Fort this morning about 7:30 and headed down river to see what would bite. Headed a little East and stopped outside Stony Bayou to give it a try. First few casts yielded two good hits and a 16" trout in the cooler, so things were looking promising. Kept fishing for awhile withou...

Yeah, I have a small pouch that goes on the waist belt of any inflatable that holds whistle, flairs, dye marker, and a signal mirror. Definitely a good idea.

Personally I like the inflatable vests for use on the kayak. I have several sets of the Sospenders and they aren't bad. Just recently bought two of the Cabela's Guardian vests and they are better than the Sospenders. Buy a manual vest, or an automatic that allows the auto feature to be turned off. N...

Morning ya'll. One more thing to take care of today and then I'm headed down to Lauderdale for a few days. Unfortunately no fishing involved.

Thanks, for the help on where to launch. I've put the yak in around Panacea many times. Usually used the bottoms ramp with it, but know I can't launch the big boat there. Always did good with the yak around Panacea, so thought I would try that area more by boat. It's not a bad run over from St.Marks...

Same ole, same ole! St.Marks 6/23/07

Put in at the Fort around 7:30 yesterday morning. Had a couple friends with me so I was looking forward to a good day out on the water. Jumped up on plane leaving the no wake zone and quickly realized something wasn't right. Engine was revving way up and motor was jumping but I wasn't getting speed....

That's what I do, run out around the spoil islands and then head east or west.

Sounds like I should have gotten out there earlier. The original plan was to go pretty early, but unfortunately I stayed up till 1:30 the night before helping a friend put up curtains and hang pictures in her new house in town. That sun was something fierce about mid-day as well. Put sunscreen on tw...

Anybody catch fish yesterday? St.Marks 6/9/07

Put in at the Fort about 9:30 yesterday morning. Got started late after a long night Friday. Ran out and fished the west flats for awhile without any bites other than pinfish. Headed east in search of some trout but didn't do much better. Water was still pretty clear. Some floating grass, but not to...

I bought a Motorguide SW75 60" shaft for my bay boat a couple weeks ago and love it so far. I had heard good things about the new Motorguide wireless series and eventually decided to try one. At $300 less than the comparable Minn-Kota I couldn't resist. I got the motor, a spare prop, and a hand...

Not sure if I'm going or not this weekend. Plan to play it by ear with the weather.

Looking for a crew!!

If anyone wants to go fishing this Saturday I've got room for a couple of people. Plan is to fish out of St.Marks or Panacea. Won't be going far unless the forecast improves greatly. Probably out to the west flats. May shoot for Saturday afternoon till about dark since the weather is supposed to imp...

Wasn't too bad at the Fort when I put in. Waited about 5 min. to launch. There was a ton of people coming out of the Lighthouse channel when I went by though. Sounds like you had a good day. I need to get over and fish to the East some. Keep hearing too many good reports from that area.

St. Marks 5/19/07

Put in at the Fort a little after 7:00 Saturday morning. The plan was to do some trout fishing and maybe troll for spanish and blues. Ran a little west and fished the grass flats between the river and Shell Point. Started getting bites almost immediately from spanish and small trout. Couldn't seem t...

Lowrance Ifinder H2OC. I say this because it is a better unit. Bigger screen than map76, much cheaper than map76C, better basemap, and it's easy to use. I had a Garmin map76 for years and much prefer my Lowrance Ifinder H2OC.
