Be careful doing this; the ray won't like it. Sometimes I save the stringer, sometimes I don't. Then I cut the wings ...

Re: Catfish

Charles, My dad will keep and clean Sailcats.. trim the dark meat off and they are good. But I've NEVER heard of someone keeping hardheads... You really eat them? Do you do anything special when cleaning them? I do eat them, but I don't do anything special when cleaning them, Barry. I just skin, fi...

Re: Catfish

To me a catfish is a catfish is a catfish. Freshwater - saltwater; doesn't matter, it's still a catfish. I target the hardheads with cut bait on the bottom and catch a few sailcats and, once in a while, a stingray big enough to be worth cleaning. Any kind of cut bait will work, but a chunk of ladyfi...

Re: Amnesty

Got both bags back fully intact with all contents. Mitch Williams of Tallahassee is a genuinely honest man and a true gentleman. He found them right where I left them in the parking lot. He used my cell phone to find out my home phone number, called me at 9 this morning and we arranged to meet in Ta...

I left two tackle bags at the boat ramp at the fort. One had some good stuff in it.

There weren't there when I got back.

Think about it.

Re: chatter baits?

tin can wrote:There is actually a saltwater version of the Chatterbait. It has a soft plastic minnow body rather than a skirt. It will catch a red.
It will catch a lot of reds fished in rocky holes in tidal creeks in the winter time. :D

For this, any color will work as long as its red or brown.

Re: someone take me to school on scallops

Be courteous to other scallopers and do not clean your scallops where you have just been looking for them. I personally appreciate people not chumming the water I'm swimming in. Also, the shells tossed overboard can make is more difficult and frustrating for anyone searching the area after you leav...

A nice'un.

If I ran across that it depends. We might hunker down and hold a conversation; or it might be coming home to supper.

Re: Snake id

That is, indeed, a copperhead. Where was it killed? City, State? I only ask because I've never seen one around here, but I used to see them from time-to-time when I was up in NC.

Number A1A: Panic attacks are not authorized. Not under any circumstances.

Number (something): A scared man with a 5 gallon bucket can move a lot of water.

Second that in heavy seas everything is stowed and secured.
