Re: November 21 - 24 trip info
Any of those would be good, but I used to fish out of Steinhatchee a good bit for grouper. I don't offshore much anymore, but if your run SW out of Steinhatchee until you are almost due west of Horseshoe Beach there is good live bottom that I've worked on the grouper before.

Re: Caught my first barracuda today...in Stoney Bayou!
Judging by the temp change this morning, we are experiencing our 4th climate change of the year this morning.
I suspect it has to do more with rising salinity due to lack of rain, but I only stayed in a Holiday Inn Express earlier this year.

Re: I realy hate to Post this?
I let a local Carrabelle shop do some work on my boat back in the summer. When I went out, I had a wiring issue that caused my chartploder to cut in or out. I took it elsewhere to get repaired. I also did a lot of my own repairs after Michael. The costs seemed to be somewhat inflated although the gu...

Cudas under 20lb are usually ok to eat. However, above that a fishery biologist told me that get a very high mercury level and shouldn't be eaten. Personally, I've never tried one.

Well, I'm sitting here near Lanark on the coast and the storm surge is up and the winds are very strong and steady, but nothing worse than a bad thunderstorm, except it doesn't end.

Ramp is a good one. You have to be careful navigating where the river opens into the bay, but once you are in the channel, then no problems. You know there is ramp as Mashes Sands right?

Re: Need Some Suggestions
Ended up fishing from dock at city park in Carrabelle. They caught a few and had a good time. Shooed them off to Wakula Springs for afternoon swim. Cleaned and cooked the fish and the backup low country boil. They went home full and happy. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Re: wednesday 9-11
I started the morning remembering and praying for those who were lost that day and those who were lost seeking justice for that day and for the innocence lost that day. I'll never forget my wife's tearful call and her wondering if we needed to take our kids out of school and protect them at home. Ne...

Did they quit selling tires, because cars kill way more folks?
Did they stop selling booze, because people in cars with tires kill way more folks?
Stupid stunt.

The phrase ramming speed comes to mind. Actually, I would move off, write down the boat numbers and call the law.

How about the county park at the former Island View motel site on 98? Lot closer and good opportunities with a nice pier. I'd load 'em up with shrimp with popping corks and have at it. Maybe float a few live pinfish out on balloons. Reds, trout, flounder, black drum and sharks cruise through there....

Normally, I take my church's boy scout troop scalloping each year, but this year, I've gotten few good reports. Now they want to go fishing instead, but the troop has 12 boys and that is too many for me to take at one time on my Ol' Pro. I had a couple of guys lined up to take part of them, but then...

Prayers lifted. The searchers keep finding debris, but as one who has done a search before, there is always a LOT of debris out there.

Re: Bird Racks
Bird racks were originally put out there to collect bird droppings for fertilizer or at least that is what an old timer told me.
