Re: Econfina River - first time advice
To Redbelly's comment, I've been fishing out of Ecky for 20+ years and as much as possible I prefer running in and out with between 1' to 1.5' positive tide. Worth noting summer tides tend to be a tad on the higher side of forecast / a bit more forgiving, whereas in the winter tides often will run ...

Tribute to OG Forum Member, RHTFISH
Met Ross "Poppy" Thomas almost 20 years ago at a Bigbendfishing forum cookout and instantly bonded with him over our shared love of the Econfina area. Honestly don't believe we ever met again in person, but with the advent of Facebook we communicated regularly through comments on each other's posts ...

"Family" by military and fishing bonds only, but guess as bonds go those are two pretty good ones to have.Red Beard wrote: January 29th, 2024, 12:30 pm Condolences to your family. The Flaming Armadillo story is a BBFF classic for sure.

Passing of "PA" Futchcairo
Been a while since I've had time to visit the forum, but wanted to let any of the longtime board members know that "PA" Futchcairo (Alfred Earl Futch Sr) died back in August of 2023.

Re: Needing Home(s) for Tasty Pigs
Just wondering how the population of pigs is doing. Do you still have more to eradicate?
Put a big hurting on the local population between March and June with a total of 78 hogs harvested.
Typically piglets are easier to hunt / trap than adults, but frustratingly it was a set of 4 young ...

Re: Costa Films: Tribute to Jose Wejebe/Spanish Fly
Very much enjoyed seeing it and thank you for the share, SK. That said, found it interesting the YouTube description shows it as "unlisted", meaning only those who receive the link can see it. Couldn't help but wonder why they wouldn't want it a public tribute to Jose and the wonderful experience of ...

The "big bend" description of the forum covers quite a distance of coast line.

Re: Needing Home(s) for Tasty Pigs
Please bear with me if I screw-up, as this is my first posting on this site.
I am an old cripple who used to love to hunt and eat what I killed. I can no longer do that. My wife and I would love to consume another wild hog. Unfortunately she just ordered a freezer-full of organic pork. Would this ...

we kill them nearly daily here but i've never seen Deer and Pigs in the same area like that. deer typically always run off when they come out. pretty neat to see!
Yep, the deer usually defer to the pigs when it comes to claiming ground. That shared, I get a fair number of trail camera hits where ...

Oreocwby, got 3 or 4 more visiting the trap the past few nights but haven't triggered it due to the storms that rolled through and another forum member wanting one or two on Sunday if we can time it right.
Share the above as hopeful will trap some Saturday night / dispatch them ...

Depends a bit on part of Tallahassee. I'm about 20 mins from the east side / live very close to where Apalachee Highway/US27 meets 59 at the turn towards Wacissa.
