Re: line to leader connection
I nail knot about a 10" section of 40 to 50lb test to the fly line with a loop knot on the other end to connect the leader to. I've never had one fail as of yet.

Re: Finally Got the Maverick to Lanark
RS... If your looking for a push pole Temple Fork has one that comes in sections. You pay by the section and can customize the length. They look to be of good quality and at a fair price.

Garmin Question
Anyone using one of the newer Garmins (440 series) and how do you like it? I look at one the other day and it seemed a little harder to navigate the screens compared to the older Garmins.

Looks good You can send some my way. Do you have a place in PC for fly tying supplies or are you ordering online? I've been having a hard time finding quality materials.

Re: Twisted Leader aka bugleash
Chalk... the link you posted is how i finish the loops, it doubles it and keeps if from breaking. After going back and looking at the diagram I posted it's a little misleading, the two 'tag ends' never cross each other. In other words the rolling of the tags create a twist.... if that makes sense. I...

Re: Twisted Leader aka bugleash
Kink the mid point and begin 'rolling' the line with your fingers (both tag ends in the same direction) about a few inches from the mid point feeding line into the twist. The tough part is controlling the twist that develops in the tag ends, you just have to keep working it out. I sit in a chair wit...

Twisted Leader aka bugleash
I've been using a twisted leader for the past couple of years and thought I'd share. These leaders work really well and have enough power to turn over a wet sock. It’s fairly easy to make and you only end up with one knot in a tapered leader. The trick in twisting the initial strand of mono is to us...
