Econfina 2-03
Me and a friend fished around the high tide in a creek. Saw a bunch of fish but none hungry. I switched to gulps out of desperation and managed to catch a few redfish. Bottom of the slot size fish but ate very good tonight. Went about 7 miles offshore to check my crab traps and got a good mess of cr...

Glad you caught a few.
Between this and all the other reports, y'all just about have me talked into going down to Econfina for the high tide.

Re: GPS question
One of those little yellow eTrex's by Garmin would probably do the trick. They cost a little over a hundred ($109 at Boater's World I think) or you can probably find a better deal online. For years, this was the only unit I ever had and it reliably got me back to dozens of offshore spots. I'm not an...

Re: Hard to find the right boat!!!!! Bay + Flats + BASS
I have a 19' Twin Vee. Drafts 10" and is a pretty stable and dry ride to and from nearshore reefs. I like to fish for redfish and trout in the creeks on a high tide and go catch grouper on the falling tide in 20'-25'. This boat will accomodate that routine very nicely. It's a solid enough boat ...

Re: Winter grouper fishing
Those would be good places to find. I'm just not sure there's many grouper in water that shallow right now even if you find the spots. This is something to try when the water temps get back to 60's. I edited my post to mention that you probably need to get in deeper water than I'm talking about if y...

Re: Winter grouper fishing
Welcome. Be sure to let us know how you do. If you search on this board, you should find a lot of good information from previous posts. Grouper will come into shallow water (15' - 25') in the early spring and late fall/early winter and you can probably catch one trolling with a stretch 25 or CD 18 b...

Mook - You ought to send a picture of yourself from yesterday to the Webster's folks. They can use it to illustrate the term "die-hard". Maybe include a picture of the folks that were on the ramp for 10 mins to illustrate "clueless dumb$#@#'s" (their state o...
