SHOUT OUT TO SHEILDS MARINA
Thanks BRETT AND SHEILDS Marina for great job on my cushions and bolsters . The price was right and turnaround was quicker than I expected.

Re: Carrabelle River Fishing 1/16-1/18
Jss, I also fished Carrabelle River. Most of reds have moved up River to some deeper holes. I would try tipping your bait with shrimp. I usually go to Millanders seafood and get lb of fresh dead, works great. Good luck.

Dave , you are right. Horizontal is best way to handle these trophies . We did completely revive all before safely releasing for another day.

Dog Island ,40’
We couldn’t get any hits trolling so we finished the day deep dropping. Seas weren’t too bad, 2-3’ ,water temp 60 degrees. The reds were massive overshot, huge red snapper out of season, and all the gags an inch too short. Still better than a day of work. DCE5214F-4212-4589-8BAB-D06F111325AC.jpeg E3...

Re: St. George Island Late December
Water temps are cooling down a bit, lower 60’s last week. Yes, try the surf cause there are still reds roaming the surf . Quite a few black drums being caught lately, especially around structures, bridges, pilings. Fisherman’s Choice is the local bait shop in Eastpoint, next to Napa parts store on H...

Grouper Trolling
We headed out Carrabelle River about 8:45am Friday to try our luck trolling couple stretches. Our first hit came about 9:30, it had a good pull so we thought we had the first for the box.WRONG ! It was a ray! Very short tail, 30” across , but didn’t look like normal sting ray, manta ray maybe ? Sorr...

Checked your measuring devise ?
It’s been some conversation with some of the local Boat Club members since one got stopped and asked to measure his grouper. Member stated here’s my ‘law stick’ but FWC said had to use their own. That got me to thinking about my measuring devise, am I legal? Whoa- have I been releasing legal fish? M...

Re: Opening Goliath Grouper?
I agree with FishwithChris. A limited number of tags to reduce the stock would be helpful, just don’t want to see a slaughter or see any commercial sales r.e On the menus.
