Best places to yak fish?
Where are good places to yak fish in the Big Bend area? Thinking about Hickory Mound, but heard they closed access road for repairs. Is it open? Other ideas/places?

Quality headlamp - any suggestions?
Looking for a high-quality headlamp. Need one for night fishing, camping, etc. that puts out decent light but not too heavy. What do you use? Where purchased?

Although I have not paddled a tandem, I have spent many hours in a solo yak. I suggest two solo yaks. When you go alone, a smaller lighter boat is easier to handle, paddle and especially to load/unload. If your wife likes kayaking, she will eventually want her own boat anyway. If together, two boats ...

Engine sluggish above 3000 RPM
'98 200 Yammie SWS II runs great up to 3000-3100 RPM. Starts and idles fine. Accelerating above 3000 RPM causes it to bog down and lose RPM's for a few seconds, then slowly speeds up. Will eventually reach 4400 RPM if hold stick down long enough.

If you have fuel leaking from carb, the engine should run rough, since too much fuel makes it run too rich. You could check to see if you can detect fuel leaking while engine is running. If your photo is the result of fuel leaking from carb caused by a blocked needle float that is not sealing off ...

Did I screw up: Old fuel left in carb?
'98 Yamaha 200 SWS II not been run for months. Did not drain fuel. Had stabil in tank. I just looked in each carb via drain bolt and most were empty, some had small amount of oily mix drip out.
