Re: Anyone going out tomorrow, 8/9?
No, it's part of the Big Bend WMA, well east of there. I forgot to mention I actually got trapped in a creek for a little bit due to two Manatees mating (I assume, though I suppose it could have been a fight to the death over a prized heifer) right in the middle of a creek opening. I considered goin...

Re: Anyone going out tomorrow, 8/9?
Went out to Hickory Mound and only pulled in a single keeper trout. Tons of mullet jumping all around. Water was very smooth and coke colored till about 9 or so. Floating grass was really thick, and I couldn't get by with topwater or even weedless paddle tails. Popping rig with Gulp shrimp seemed to...

Anyone going out tomorrow, 8/9?
Anyone going out on a kayak tomorrow and looking for company? I'm going to try and be on the water by 6:45 to target some trout and probably fish till noon.

Re: Registering a kayak W/O a bill of sale
https://www.flhsmv.gov/motor-vehicles-tags-titles/vessels/vessel-titling-registrations/ I reached out to a friend at FWC and inquired about how strictly it is enforced, and he told me that it is something that is regularly enforced in his area. Administratively, you're supposed to bring your bill if...

Registering a kayak W/O a bill of sale
I have a kayak I picked up used and did not get a bill if sale because I didn't think it would matter. Decided to pick up a trolling motor for it last week and discovered that I must register it in Florida once I put the trolling motor on. Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there another way to d...

Re: Record Boat Sales
The real question is, when are the best used boat sales going to start popping up from this cycle?

Re: Preferred retrieve rate for lures
My preferred rate for a bait-caster is cast, pull out birds nest for 5 minutes while fish swim by, throw baitcaster overboard, pull out my Stradic and get busy. lol Haha, I know the feeling. I have a Stradic and I like it well enough, but I just throw the baitcaster more accurately and easily, espe...

Preferred retrieve rate for lures
I'm picking out a new baitcaster (curado K) and there are several options for gear ratio. There is not a lot of information out there on optimal retrieve speeds for different baits. Do you guys have a preference on gear ratio ( or more specifically, retrieved inches per crank) for topwater vs. paddl...

Re: Yellowflies
For the Yellow Flies I boat a lot & have a place on the St Marks. My wife swells up & hurts if a Yellow Fly bites her. I found out several years ago, by accident, that Austrian Gold sunscreen works GREAT for more than sun protection!!!! I use 30 or 50spf but I don't think that matters. I ha...

Re: Forecast is wrong!!!
I took the kayak out to HM yesterday and struck out except for a few sail cats. Live shrimp under a popper, paddle tails, spook Jr, gold spoon... Nothing was attractive to them. The fresh water was flowing fast, making the turbidity high (brown coke colored water) and a north wind was blowing steady...

Re: Family friendly Charter
I was not aware of the six person limit, which makes a lot of sense now. We may have to go the two boat route.
