Re: Dicks Sporting Goods
C'mon guys, we're better than this. One guy posts a deal on some fishing gear and you degrade the forum with politics. If you want to talk politics, there are other sites for that. Lets keep this one about fishing.

Re: Looking for a kid gun
I grew up with a Remington 1100 youth model, 20 ga. Great little gun, it will be the one I give to my son when he is old enough.

Re: What do you want to say to FWC
Maybe this is just my experience, but in the winter I have to really work sometimes to catch any keeper trout. Some days I easily catch my limit on the river (last year was this way) and others I have the fish hard, all day to find any keepers. Come April to May, 4 feet of water out of Econfina or K...

Re: What do you want to say to FWC
Every year it seems like people bring up that too many trout are caught in the winter in the rivers and that the trout season should be shut down. Sure, a lot of fish are caught, but it seems that the fishery is still sustainable. If the fishery wasn't sustainable, the solution is to change the slot...

Re: Catch of the Day???
The St. Marks Outfitters guide was catching quite a few sheephead in the river near the fort on Sunday. It looked like they were catching them on live shrimp near the bottom of the channel.

Re: Garage Door Repairman
You need to replace them both. The springs weaken over time and putting a fresh stong spring will either cause your other the fail prematurely or will cause your door to close unevenly. You also need the right tool to be able to put the proper torsion in the new spring. I usually do all of my house ...

Re: Local Boat Ramp Status?
The cape was indeed cut in two right at the state park, right after the boat ramp. Screenshot 2018-10-14 at 8.05.36 PM.png NOAA has some really good images of it here: https://storms.ngs.noaa.gov/storms/michael/index.html#16/29.7668/-85.4039 I went down to the Cape yesterday with my Aunt to go and c...
Re: Flounder
We've caught a few lately at Keaton while fishing for redfish around the oysterbars. Usually once we drift off the oyster bar we'll catch one.

Re: St Marks trout thrashing
I thrashed the trout again Saturday at St. Marks. This thread changed my fishing style though, I made sure that I only caught keepers!! It was interesting though, while we were catching keeper trout almost every other cast, most of the boats around us didn't seem to be catching that much at all. I t...

Re: St Marks trout thrashing
Me and a buddy went on a two day fishing trip several years ago. We thought that 2 days allowed us to have possession of two limits. We had 14 trout on us when we got checked at the boat ramp, and learned that the law (according to the warden at the time) is that one limit has to be visibly frozen. ...

Re: St Marks trout thrashing
I find it to be the exact opposite of winter fishing vs. spring and fall fishing. When I fish the rivers during the winter, I don't always limit out. Sometimes I find the fish and sometimes you really have to work to figure out what they are biting and what holes they are in just to catch a few. Whe...

Re: St Marks trout thrashing
I don't see how keeping 5 fish in January is any different on the fishery than 5 fish in March or October. The only difference is that you can see all the boats catching in the winter while all the boats are spread out on the flats during the warmer weather. If the fishery is in trouble, the solutio...

Re: bucket question
I homebrew beer and the buckets I use for that are probably the ones you are looking for. I use 6.5 gallon buckets, which give me 5 gallons of beer and plenty of head space for the wort to bubble. If you are in Tallahassee go by the homebrew den and ask for an ale pale. Shouldn't be more than $10
