Re: St. Marks 1/23

Sounds awesome. I am headed down for a day trip in a week or so and will probably try the creek mouths but does anyone ever do any slow trolling in the river channel? I’ve heard of folks locating fish that way in the Steinhatchee River. You will see a few boats slow trolling when the fish ( and boa...

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.

Good to know, however FWC is a state agency and the refuge is has it’s own federal law enforcement. I wouldn’t count on an fwc officer to know the law. No offense to fwc, but they don’t seem to have a consistent firm grasp of the regs

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.

We were fishing in the refuge on Sunday. We’d spent at least 30 min using the tm to get to the flat that we wanted to pole. We were in about 8” of water, silently poling. We were about 100 yards from the bank poling perpendicular to the shore. Then capt airboat came flying by. And of course, instead...

Re: Live shrimp

Call Jrs and ask if they have shrimp. If not, Crums and Rocky’s will probably have some as long as they can get out. . You might get a bonus sheepshead. Good luck

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.

I’ve never personally had any issue with folks on airboats or jet skis here. I have had problems with boats and the occupants not paying attention and nearly hitting me or blowing out a fishing hole on entry and exit. I can see where the author is coming from, but none of us own the water nor can a...

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.

Most of the airboats I see, especially in central and south aren’t fishermen. Have y’all ever been to lake Kissimmee? None of the guys running airboats on lake iammoia in the winter are fishing.
