Going to St. Marks Saturday and will post results. Have heard mixed reviews so far for folks who have gone. One good report, two with limited success and two with no success. Folks with good report did say they had to work to get them.

My understanding is that the population count is not yet complete. In no way am a acing blame on folks that happen to be on the wrong place. I am saying that personal responsibility should require those that live in bear populated areas to dispose of garbage and particularly deer carcasses in a fash...

I have no problem with bear hunting if it is part of a management plan where there is sufficient population. I don't agree with hunting as a solution for bears in populated areas where they are attracted by unsecured garbage or improperly disposed deer

Anyone who had there buck butchered at Big Top knows why there there was a bear attack around the corner. Bears can smell deer carcass for over a mile. Whatever happened to personal responsibility? Oh yeah, the bears are paying in the most personal way.

I have had great success with a classic minnow trap in St Joe state park. But not so much elsewhere. I got a trap at Kevin's that was reasonably priced but have not had much success. What works best is rigging a pole with a sabiki rig tipping the hooks with bits of shrimp. I can catch a bucket full ...
