I chose my aluminum, 25hp tiller over my 22’ bay boat. Could have gone almost everywhere with both, but easier to fish and clean the small boat with a 2 year old.

Re: What was I doing wrong on Sunday?
Fished the rise Sunday with my son. Trout and reds both to 26”. Creeks and flats produced. Find hard structure and moving water, preferably not being thrashed by others.

Re: Dumb question-how to fish a gold spoon?
They all work. So do chatter baits. I like the larger AquaDreams. As slow as you can reel and not get snagged. If spinning instead of rocking you’re too fast.

Re: Sign the Pledge
I voted no on the gill net ban because it was an amendment. If I had been on the Fisheries Commission (or whoever oversees) I would have voted to ban or severely limit them. I also voted no on the pig crate amendment, class size, bullet train and all the other stupid shiz that is put on the ballot....

Re: Scamp Grouper--Fish I Have Yet to Catch
Have always found them in over 100’ and as deep as 300’. Found a limit of gags in state waters Monday. While they coexist to some degree, scamps are deeper.

Re: Juan sighting on Hoochie The Other Day!
Nice! My parents just moved to CSB, bought a 17’KW and my dad is reminiscent of his days fly fishing for bream in the locks around Lake O (and occasionally hanging big bass). The Hootch seems like a decent option.

Re: Huge Disappointment
Big trout have vicious head shakes, but usually only good for one run if you don’t put a ton of pressure on them. Xtra fast rod and loose. The drag. Let them wallow.

Re: NFGFC August Tournament: Rock Landing
Pretty much all the details are in the “NFGFC” section of this forum. Questions welcome at the Capt’s meeting. Michael Aman is pretty active on the FB page and will answer questions there. I’m happy to answer questions here. What kind of details are you looking for? 5 trout. Side pots for big trout ...

Re: 2021 Scallops
RB-do you keep them in saltwater? Livewell? If so, why? I’ve always just emptied them into a cooler of ice, but you seem well versed in sea food treatment.

Re: ST George Island--places to eat
IP is a good recommendation. For a quality seafood meal the Owl in Appalach can’t be beat. I’ve never been, but my parents just had some beers and listened to live music at Paddy’s on the island. They had a good time. Up The Creek and Scorpio Marina in Appalach are both good too. Have fun.

Re: Blue Ridge Guide
Thanks for all the suggestions. Thinking about staying closer to BlueRidge. Anyone fish the Noontootla or Toccoa?
