LORAN TO LAT LON CONVERSION

Can anyone tell me where there is a Windows program that will convert loran to lat/lon that won't cost an arm and a leg? I know my GPS will convert after the loran coordiantes are entered but I have received a load of old numbers and would like to do the conversions and make a hard copy. Thanks Char...

There used to be platforms, two of them, just south east of the Light House. I don't know who built them but they were always loaded with all kinds of birds. They were a goos place to spot cobia and shhep head. They eventually fell apart after many years, and I guess the hurricanes and perhaps peopl...

NOT THAT GOOD

Fished the flats west of the light house. Lots of hits, lots of shorts and a few keepers. Fished Thursday afternoon and most of today, Friday. Didn't do much beter. Lots of wind. I must say the weather was great for sipping an early morning coffee and enjoying a good cigar. Fishing is always great. ...

New Anglers

Any of you new guys to the area who would like to fish with me out of Oyster Bay are invited. You'll have to ride on my 24 ft pontoon boat "FLAT BROKE" because you can't put in at Shell Point and the run from the Light house is about four miles. If you did want to run over in your boat and...

SHELL POINT RAMP

The ramp at the Shell Point marina is closed and the drive way is blocked off. The status of the place is unknown as it is in receivership I believe.

THE WEATHER OUTWEIGHED THE FISH

For most of the weekemd, which was three days for me I thought I was down in the islands instead of Oyster Bay. Slight breezes, warm sun and cold beer. The flat water at night made floundering real nice, but didn't see any. I spent a lot of time on the cell phone calling friends and family up north...

SHRIMP ON SAW DUST

The water in the saw dust evaporates. Evaporating liquids absorb heat, said my teacher in high school. The saw dust is a few degrees cooler than the air, and the water in the saw dust also wets and cools the shrimp. Ice adds to it's efficincy. Soft shell crabs are kept alive on Spanish moss and some...

This may not work for everyone, but I have used a car iner tube. Get an ice chest that will fit in the tube and then blow it up. The chest is secure, won't come out and can cary your ice and plastic containers with leaders and lures, and in my case cigars. It follows behind you and you have someting...

Thanks guys,

I'm sorry I made it sound like wheel chairs only. That's not the case. Anyone handicapped so a hull boat won't work is welcome.
If we can get them down the gang plank to the dock we'll go fishing.

HANDICAP FISHING
