Re: Another one that got away
Hard to lose them like that. That “large Spanish” looks more like a small king, hard to tell from picture but the lateral line dips more like a king than a Spanish. Did you have any luck inshore with the trout?

Re: F250 25” shaft
Internal corrosion in the block and midsection, extreme pitting that can eventually eat through the block or exhaust areas. Somewhat common on certain Yamaha motors from around 2000 to maybe 20010, nit sure on dates. Search on thehulltruth.com for Yamaha corrosion and should be able to find more inf...

Re: submerged forest in the Gulf.
Thanks for the link, that is pretty cool. Makes you wonder what other stuff is buried under all that sand in the Gulf of Mexico.

Re: Freshwater boat ramp
How often are you fishing saltwater with the new boat/trailer? If the answer is often, you need to sell that trailer and buy an aluminum trailer. Even rinsing it off, it won’t last too long.

Re: Trailer tire pressure?
My response was for trailer tires as that was what the OP was about, so no door jamb info. The max pressure on the side walls states 65psi cold, I figure the manufacture realizes what cold means and that the pressure will increase when it gets warm. You may have misread the OP. I asked about both t...

Re: Trailer tire pressure?
I load my to Max cold air on trailer tires. I would also recommend going for Load C tires to Load D, when I did it made a much better ride and better for the tires. Load D tires 65lbs.

Re: Recommend a trolling combo
Appreciate all the suggestions, I have some heavy spinning tackle to that would probably work also. I’ll give the spinning tackle a try before going to far deep into coventional gear. I agree, the idea of a bunch of blues or other fish on a Christmas tree rig sounds hectic and increases chance of a ...

Re: Recommend a trolling combo
Do you use planers or do you pull them on the surface or trolling weights?

Recommend a trolling combo
I would like to try some shallow water near shore trolling for Spanish Mackerel. I don’t have any trolling/convential rods and reels. Would like some recommendations for some cheaper <$100 combos for trolling for Spanish Mackerel. Would like to use planers (#1,#2) and surface rigs like a bird rig or...

Keaton Beach 5/1-5/2
We fished both days and it was very slow, two keeper trout each day, one large Spanish Mackerel, and a few keeper sea bass. There was a lot of time with no bites. We tried deeo and shallow and just couldn’t find a bite. Didn’t catch many small trout either. Did catch a ton of small sea bas, two larg...

Re: Hydro-Shield
Don’t have one but looks like the advantage would be more protection for the prop but you will sacrifice some speed I would think.
