Thanks for the reply, just wanted to clarify since we both fish from separate kayaks and the rules say you must fish from the same boat. Also is the weigh in being done at Rock Landing?

I'm hoping that St. Joe Bay isn't barren this year. I haven't been scalloping there in over 20 years and had planned on taking the kids this year.

I'm looking into trying some inshore fly fishing for reds/trout. I am completely new to fly fishing and was wanting some opinions rod/line weights etc... I was thinking of something between 6-8wt??? Any and all input would be appreciated.

I kept the GS and it seems like a great reel. I ended up selling the 7000 and made my money back from the bulk purchase.

The cut at the East end of St George is a good spot. I believe you need a 4wd if I remember correctly.

Picked up a couple of older Diawa surf rods/reels today. Didn’t pay much for em so figured I would give them a try. One is a Diawa 7000c and the other is a GS-60sc. Any opinions or info on these? I will have to figure out how to post pics.

I grew up in that area and frequented this area a lot. It’s been probably 20 years since I took a Jon boat up to the spring. I do know that there are a lot of large trees across the river now though.
