Re: Keaton Beach 5/05-5/10

Edited to make the pics a bit more manageable :) Yes, it was a great trip. I think the FishBites have been around for a while, but new to me: https://fishbites.com/fishbites-fight-club-ffc/ As indicated, they are an infused scent bait, but seam more durable than gulp, and perhaps a bit less expensiv...

Keaton Beach 5/05-5/10

Fished from the 5th to the 10th with Bil Gburek from PA and a few other folks that joined us for a few days. Fishing was good, with periods of excellence. We picked up a number of nice trout to 24" and several nice reds to 29". Our best trout bite came toward late in the trip the mornings ...

Re: Keaton Beach 4/20/19

Yes, BB was along on this one. It was manageable close to shore, but I wouldn't have wanted to go out much. The wind was ok in the morning but built up pretty good by the afternoon. The water was dirtier than I've ever seen it in that area.

Keaton Beach 4/20/19

Fished with a couple of friends Saturday 4/20. The weather was about what we expected, lots of wind, but more overcast than anticipated. The water was very stirred up, couldn't find any clean water anywhere. Still managed to pick up a limit of sea trout and an accidental red. The bite was sporadic t...

Re: 2 Stroke 90 HP Mercury oil leak

I don't think it's coming from the lower unit, I think it's something higher. I should have posted a pic before, but I'm pic challenged.
Image

It appears to be coming out of the cover to the lower mount.

2 Stroke 90 HP Mercury oil leak

I've got a 2 stroke 90 Hp mercury, circa 2000, that has a oil leak that appears to be emerging from the lower mount cover on the drive shaft housing. http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/Mercury_Schematics/viewer.php?pdf=http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/Mercury_Schematics/90+3+CYL%2F0A996142_0B240450+...

Re: Knee surgery

I'm sure it will get better every day, that's the way it appears to work. I'd appreciate hearing more about your recovery. I see a couple of these in my future as well.

11/23/2018 Keaton Beach

Fished Keaton Beach on 11/23 with a couple of friends. Finished with a limit of SST and reds. we had good success in 2.5-3.5. water temps were 56 early warming up to 62 later on. Picked up around 1/2 on lipped plugs and the remainder on shrimp. There were a lot of boats with the same idea :-?

7/13-15 Keaton Beach

Spent Friday aft-Sunday morning at Keaton Beach with a friend, his two teens, and one of their friends. We spent most of our time scalloping, but did manage to fish for a little while. Scalloping was good once we found them. We had to go deeper than I prefer to scallop, 5-6', but that's where we fou...

Re: Scalloping Keaton beach 6/23/18

Sounds like you found enough to keep everyone entertained. It would be nice if they could do something to add some order to the caos (sp?) at the ramp, but I don't know what that would be.

3/31/18 Keaton Beach report

Fished Saturday 3/31 with my friend Chris, his son, and his son's friend. We managed to pick up 18 sea trout, a spanish, and a blue on an assortment of live bait (shrimp and pin fish) and some plastics. We had our best success at the end of the fall in the morning with a strong wind blowing out to a...
