Dove were flying

Opening day was a success in Gadsden and Jackson Counties. I think the birds loved the weather as much I did. I just wish they fly slower and straighter. Brown top millet unmoved seemed to bring them in and hold them. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210927/c8881a2c87fa084a0220467e428cea59.jpg Sen...

Re: Shotgun Shells: Dove Loads

That’s all folks shoot now that I shoot with. Im not opposed to using them, I just like to shoot a lot so I go the cheaper route. We also shoot bigger fields that need the coverage.

I’d be very selective with my shots if I paid for what they are going for.

Re: Shotgun Shells: Dove Loads

Yeah Kevin’s has them but you’re going to pay for them. I think they are $14-16 a box.

Where to scallop this summer

Got a boat limit for the first time out of St. Marks last season. We usually go to St. Joe. Look for the armada of boats east of the lighthouse. Good luck!

Re: Where to eat in Steinhatchee?

McDavids is awesome for breakfast. They have good donuts. Price is reasonable. McDavid's, that's the place by the bridge, right? If so... We call that place #BridgeBiscuits because man, those homemade biscuits are MASSIVE and so delicious. Good, cheap, homemade diner-style breakfast eats. Absolutel...

Re: Where to eat in Steinhatchee?

Roy’s was great. I had the shrimp and flounder. They have a good salad bar too. Kathi’s is great too. I’ve only had a burger. Fiddlers seemed way over priced IMO and not enough food. McDavids is awesome for breakfast. They have good donuts. Price is reasonable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Lures -

I switched trebles for inline circles on my mirrodines a few weeks ago. I’ve had 2 really good days on trout and reds and didn’t miss a single fish. It’s so nice using a dehooker and release them boatside without touching them. I’m going to try it with tw plugs this spring. I’ll use owner #1 or 1/0...

Re: Lures -

Wrote an article about single vs. trebles for TIDE about two years ago. MirrOlure is offering conversion kits to swap out trebles with in-line singles. Rapala is offering single-rigged lures straight out of the box. I've converted a few topwater lures to singles. I've found the best configuration f...

Re: Lures -

Yeah, I agree. Fished the Eggnog Open in December. Had a 25” redfish swallow a three treble hook lure. It took us 2-3 mins to get the lure out. Blood all over. There was a 1/2 lb penalty for dead fish. After we got the hooks out I put him in the water next to the boat and to my surprise he slapped m...

Lures -

Conversation starter.....

Does anyone swap out the treble hooks on top water or suspension lures for single hooks or reduce the amount of trebles from 3 to 2?

Furthermore, are there any other neat modifications you make to your lures?
