Re: Keaton beach Saturday 3/11

I've made that mistake. Their mouths are like a bear trap. Even dumber was the time I tried to lip a trout... Yeah, I always learn things the hard way.

Re: Fishing Seasons

Cobia, Tarpon, Kingfish, and other migratory species come up the coast from South Fl and stay with us throughout the Summer. Summer fishing can slow down, but there will be fish to catch all year round. A Summer or two ago, it rained nearly every day, and that year was terrible for fishing, but we ...

Re: Finally tried out the new chainsaw.

Nice! Got to try my 14" saw out this weekend too. Unfortunately I had to use it on honey-do stuff, instead of hunting stuff, lol

Re: Lanark/Carrabelle 25 Feb 2017

Funny how that works... 8 hours in the office seems like eternity, but I will sit in a tree stand or boat from sunrise to sunset with no problem, lol... Glad to hear you had at least a little luck. Still more enjoyable than my Saturday of hauling kids and getting ready to move. Hoping this is my las...

Re: Dogwoods bloomin

Best indicators of when it's time to go fishing: 1. When the dogwoods are blooming. 2. When the dogwoods are not blooming. LOL... Up north dogwoods blooming mean spring turkey hunting, bass fishing and morel mushroom hunting. They are definitely blooming in Crawfordville. Sounds like it's time kick ...

here it is: http://www.bigbendfishing.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4174 The cobia story that will live in infamy, lol... probably one of the greatest fishung stories I've ever read. My experience with cobia is somewhat limited, but I can say that the best luck I've had with them was in the Ma...

Re: Rise Up

Well, my hat is off to Tom Brady. What an amazing come back. Thanks to Malcolm Mitchell, Valdosta was mentioned during the super bowl. He had a good game. Hailing from up north I have to say, "Go Pats!!" In addition to Mitchell being from Valdosta, Legarrette Blount is native to Perry, FL...

Re: Goliath Grouper bag limit?

We hook into them (or at least what I believe are goliath grouper) quite frequently. My question is, are they good to eat? It seems like a fish that big would not not be very good table fair.

Re: St Marks 12/29

Nice! I've caught quite a few rock bass out of St marks this year, but they were all short. Which is a shame, because they are one of my most favorite fish to eat. Great report!

Re: Gps recommendations

The most optimal chartplotter/sonar reader that I've found for the money is the Garmin 74cv (Used to be called the 74dv, but an employee at Bass Pro told me that had to change names for some reason). I don't know how soon you want to get one, but they go on sale every year around tax time at Bass Pr...

Way to go, I know he was excited, glad y'all caught a lot, I know it helps when ya take the kiddos, they get boring real easy, I know mine do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah, he gets bored out there, but for the most part he's pretty good. Usually he will fish for a while and then play arou...

Re: East River St Marks

East river is a hidden gem in my opinion. It's tricky to navigate to the mouth of the river on low tide, I don't think I've made a trip up there that didn't produce fish. Last spring I landed a 26" trout off of one of the bars. Plenty of eating size black drum up there at certain times of year,...
