Either way, I spent my entire spring break with some buddies down in the everglades backcountry camping and fishing everyday. It was an awesome time and We took plenty of pic...

Re: Best 2 week period for all around flats fishing???
I think the boom is different everywhere ya go. For some places its end of may for others its the month of march. For me, I really enjoy the middle of April. Trout begin to get very active and hardbaits still produce alot of fish.

When I worked with DNR we had the exact same motor. We experienced the same problems you were talking about and through the course of the summer it never got better. We took it to the shop 2-3 times but the problem persisted.

Re: YA YA THE NET BAN IS LIFTED
Harvest for the sake of harvest will yield overfishing. Though the net ban has been lifted for a period of time, restraint is still needed by anglers to not flood the market. Sadly, if someone harvests sustainably, there are usually three more who don't even consider sustainability.

Re: Thousands of dead fish
No word on the cause yet, but the fish were toadfish, flounder, and other small baitfish. Has all the signs of a D.O. drop but I'll wait for the experts to say...

Back Home for the Weekend 7/26 7/27
Got home from Brunswick Thursday and needed to get a little fishing in. Seeing the NW winds predicted on Friday, I knew I had to give it a try. Called up and buddy and got out before sunrise. Had 5 Reds by 9:30 and headed to the trout spot. Tannic water was everywhere and seemed to have pushed the t...

Tripletail Curse is BROKEN!
I've been chasing a tripletail this summer since I started my internship here in Brunswick, Ga. Between the weather and coming home to fish the gulf every weekend I had limited opportunities to go out and chase these creatures. Finally, this weekend I was able to weather a small craft advisory and g...

Econfina 6/1 Pics
Went home again and fished Econfina due to the winds being so harsh. Got out at sunrise with the wind coming right off the bank at 15 knots. Started working creek mouths and bars with some success. Ended up with 5 reds (1 over) and 5 trout (we didnt target them for long). The trout were again in abo...
