Re: Winter pinfish?
I read a scientific article which states they typically move out deeper where temps are less erratic in the winter. Not sure where and how deep though. I think I posted a link on here for the article, I’ll look. Found it: http://www.fao.org/3/ap947e/ap947e.pdf Page 20-21 That was a pretty interesti...

Re: Winter pinfish?
I was on the flats on Saturday and was unable to find pinfish as well. Fortunately, the grouper were hungry and took frozen LY's, but the grunts did, too. Where do we find the grouper this time of year? I've heard that some grouper will come in shallow in the fall. The Mrs and I gave the St. Marks ...

Re: What was I doing wrong on Sunday?
We went Sunday and fished the flats. We saw a lot of boats in the river on the way out, but the water temp on the flats was 68 F, which is way too warm for the fish to be in the river IMO. We ended up catching 3 slot reds, a few right under the slot, and some nice fat trout. We fished pretty shallo...

Re: What was I doing wrong on Sunday?
I will say that overall the number of folks fishing St. Marks these days is ridiculous. (and sad to an old-timer like me) That's why I was shocked at the lack of boat trailers at the lighthouse ramp. Maybe the tide was too low for anyone that knows the conditions. It was just high enough for my boa...

Re: What was I doing wrong on Sunday?
Thanks everyone. Mrs. Admiral wants to go back out next Saturday. She's talking about taking the kayaks this time which really limits our range. I'm going to try to keep her in the CC next weekend, I can't go as shallow in it but we can cover more range.

What was I doing wrong on Sunday?
The Admiral and I went out Sunday from St. Marks, launching about noon. We fished the St. Marks river down to the Lighthouse area and got skunked. We are new to inshore fishing but usually we catch at least a few. There were lots of boats out fishing in the area and all seemed to be fishing off the ...

Kayak Red from St. Marks
I took the Admiral out in our tandem kayak today at St. Marks and she caught her first red fish ever. Love that smile

Re: Winchester Small Rifle, Small Pistol Primers for sale or trade
I've got two members who've asked for them, so consider them gone pending closing the deal.
If you need reloading components, powder, pistol or rifle bullets or cases send me a PM and I'll see what I have.

Re: Almost Fall Y’all!
I made my first Big Bend fishing trips out this weekend. Caught 3 nice trout, a few smalls and that was about it. Really just trying to learn my way around the bay. Sunday we ran out to Ochlocknee shoals and rotary reef area. I say area since I don't think I found the actual reef but did find a old ...

I saw an announcement today that they are calling off the search. So sad for his family and loved ones.
