Loaded the kayaks Wednesday night based on the hourly weather report saying low rain percentage until noon. Got up at 6:45 to a light rain and a new forecast of rain all day! Weather man was wrong! Light rain stopped around 10:00. Put in around 11:00 and fished until 2:30. Honestly had to put sunblock on. Sum was beaming by 12:00. Only managed 1 short red and a ray. The boy, of course, came in with a nice 22" red. At least I got to go.

Out of luck for a quick trip this morning. At midnight last night the hourly weather had 10-15% rain until noon then steady rain the rest of the day in Panacea. Loaded the kayaks up, got up at 6:45 ready to go and its already raining. Weather report now says 80-90% all day!

Imhooked,Not sure what type of boat you fish out of but like Cotton said the creeks are usually best. We have the most luck within an hour or so before and after low tide. Wow. My daughter likes to fish there. Never caught anything but sharks and catfish. Will definitely try live bait.

We fished Panacea Thursday from 11:00 until 2:30. Wind was strong as well as the tide. I managed to hook 1 short red on a pin fish. Evan came in with 2 reds in the 20" range.

Nice. My son tried shoreline fishing at Bottoms yesterday but only managed to lose his car key! Got another from the dealer this morning and about to head that way to get his car. Hope it's still there!!!!

For one of the first times since I've been here, the best fishing days according to the lunar calendar hit out on a weekend.
