Re: St Marks Friday and Saturday
Nice trip. Does the gulp shad have a paddle tail? Blues are good on the grill but the meat takes a lot of preparation and most folks don't want to fool with them. No, the gulp shad has a tiny little split tail. I think the blue fish taste fine but the wife can't get past the look of the meat.

St Marks Friday and Saturday
Fished friday and Saturday out of St Marks. Both days east of the lighthouse. Friday was hot and I struggled to find a couple of decent trout. Saturday was rough, especially in the morning, but toughed it out and caught my five with three between 18 and 19 inches. All caught between 7 and 9 feet wit...

Re: Louisiana inshore
As to the question of limits, someone told me it was also due to the fact that there is so much area that is almost completely unaccessable (if that's even a word) other than to airboats.

Re: Boat insurance
Comparisons are extremely difficult but unless you are an attorney and have the time to read the 30 pages of fine print and legalease it all comes down to whether or not you trust the person selling you the policy. There are so many "Gotchas" in these policies.

Re: Boat insurance
Not necessarily looking to leave Allstate. Every four or five years I take a look at all of my policies and re-evaluate. I have had no problem with Allstate.

Boat insurance
Looking for input on boat insurance coverage. Who do you have yours insured with? Does it cover on the water protection as well as on the trailer? How about equipment theft?
Thanks for the input.

Re: cell phone coverage on the water
I have verizon and iphone 6 plus and my coverage is very good from shell point all the way over to the mouth of the Aucilla. Terrible coverage at Shell Island Fish Camp though.

Re: Must have fishing accessories
A cheap 1 inch helm pad. This has really helped my knees and back greatly, especially on those long runs thru choppy water. I got mine at Sams club for less than $20. I think it is designed for use in front of the kitchen sink. Several towels also.

Re: Flounder
I can usually pick up a few in the mouth of big pass bouncing a jig head and curly tail grub of the bottom. White with yellow tail. I'm by no means an expert but it works for me.
