Re: Radio Frequency?

We almost always do a radio check on channel 16. Doesn't hurt. We also keep the radio on and listen. We have headed out with a "person missing in water in the rock garden" to help search, but they found him/her. We at least heard the call and were in the vicinity so headed in that directed...

Re: Great water clarity!

So far no crabs, but we have zip ties on the traps and no one has messed with them. Don England is doing ok but not catching a lot.. We left them where they were and we'll see. They are in a good rocky bottom area, so not sure....We're not decided on the worth the effort at this point.

Great water clarity!

We ventured out yesterday to check our stone crab traps. Water clarity was awesome. We could clearly see the bottom and all the structure and fish in 17'. Ken and Cat went out today. Same thing. They sent pictures a few minutes ago in 10'. You can see the black bass hanging out. Wish I was out there...

Re: Trolling Motors

It's made to tie in with Humminbird which uses the Navionics chip. So you can plot a route on your Humminbird and have the IPilot follow that route. We use the anchor feature all the time. Tell IPilot to anchor and it keeps the boat in position. Used it all day today fishing in about 17' for black b...

Re: WEEKEND INSHORE WEATHER

We headed out about 11:30 to check our stone crab traps. It was glass and calm all day. Decided to stay in about 17' and loaded up on some black bass. Water was crystal clear all the way to the bottom. We must have caught about 100 of them in all sizes. Our two friends limited out. We threw a lot of...

Re: Trolling Motors

We have a heavy boat (5500 lbs) and 27'. We had a lot of help from folks on this forum when trying to decide on a trolling motor. We went with the Minn Kota Rip Tide 100# with IPilot. We love it! Use it every trip. It has an anchor feature which is great! Highly recommend the Minn Kota.

Re: Sign Up for NFGFC End of Year Celebration

Tallykenj, betterhalf, Catherine and Claire plan on coming. I suspect it's not on Saturday because it will be tight for those of us crazy enough to fish in the winter (at least during frigid weather) to get back in time. :-D

Re: Trolling Motor Help

When we were in the market for a trolling motor, the folks on this forum were very helpful. We had to go with the 100 pound thrust. Someone recommended the I-pilot route and we are so glad we went with that feature instead of the autopilot. It has an anchor mode. Great when you hit just the right sp...

Re: 2012 drought prompted request over corn fuel use

Speaking of corn and transportation costs. I remember when I could buy a 50lb bag of high quality horse feed for $7.95 a bag. That same bag last week cost me $18.00!

If you keep up with this forum, we all know how protective JT is about HIS Holes! Just a reminder that as the old saying goes, possession is nine tenths of the law (at least while you're camped out on them). JT might consider putting "No Trespassing" signs on his holes. :-D Of course, that...
