Monday morning at St. Marks

Me and my wife dropped the new boat (new to us anyway) in at the Fort yesterday morning at low tide for a shake down run. Didn't have a lot of time but figured as long as we were there, might as well throw a couple of rods in the rod holders I mounted and do some trolling (my favorite way to fish th...

Re: Selling a great boat, exceptional value!

Thanks Rocky. It is a great boat. Priced it that low to move it quickly. A buddy of mine has a really nice 21' Pro Craft flats boat with a 200 Yamaha that Im buying. Has a recent 80 lb Minn Kota with the quick disconnect bracket that will go with it. If you know somebody looking for a heck of a deal...

Re: Trout in the river

I was using a chartreuse Gulp swimming mullet (short paddle tail jig). Wanna troll just fast enough to keep the jig from snagging on the bottom.

Selling a great boat, exceptional value!

Selling my McKee Craft 17 Pulse. For those not familiar with the McKee Craft, check some of the forums. Great boats that are a solid foam filled. It is a 2000 model with a 115 Suzuki fuel injected 2 stroke that runs great (don't know how many hours). Trailer is in good shape with a break-a-way tongu...

Trout in the river

Put in at the fort this AM about 8:30 and popped over to the mouth of the river. Made a few casts. My buddy picked up a short trout (but not by much) throwing a red fish magic with a white gulp. We trolled from there past the power plant around the third curve in the river and picked up a couple mor...

Re: Oysters

I wouldn't eat them raw but would (and do) eat them steamed (actually smoked). I get them a Spears Seafood on 90 right off Capital Circle N.W. I have a large electric smoker with 4 trays. I usually put them in the smoker with hickory wood chips at around 200 degrees and leave them in till the shells...

Re: Asking for a favor please…….

We did and nothing much to report BUT still had a great time catching up with my son. Talked to several guys on the river and the trout just aren't there. Tried shrimp on the bottom at the usual places and was surpassed that the mangrove snappers weren't there either. Very grateful for those who pos...
