Boat price advice?
Wondered if you guys could give me a ball park for what I should charge for a Gheenoe I'm selling. I just upgraded. Had a guy stop by and ask how much I wanted and I had no idea where to even start. It's about 7 years old, in good shape, nothing wrong with it, 13' 9", with trailer. It's got an ...

Re: Question about my new boat...
Thanks ya'll. Glad I asked. Yeah, I've got a bilge pump but I'd rather not have to use it. I had to run back from the pennisula to PSJ across the bay a couple of years ago in my Gheenoe one afternoon. When I left in the morning it was slick as a baby's behind....it was a nightmare coming back. Kept ...

Question about my new boat...
Just bought an 06' 14ft alumacraft with a 15 horse honda. I'm mostly a bass fisherman, but I wanna take it down to St. Joe this weekend and run out to the end of the peninsula. I see it is supposed to get pretty windy. I don't spend much time out on the salt water, but that size boat should be fine ...

Re: gas almost $4.00/gal cannot afford to go to coast
Yeah, I've read everywhere how statistically "safe" it is to kayak around gators but the first few times I took mine down to the Ochlocknee I had multiple big-a$$ gators surface right beside me. They appeared to just be looking and trying to figure it out, but if they don't know to be scar...

Talquin 5-7
Put in at Coe and fished the flats out in front of it and back toward the river. Pretty windy. Caught a few nice cats and eventually got a mess of bream, but they were pretty slow until about 5:30. Gators were out in force, as usual. Of to Vegas, so ya'll let me know how the fishing is this weekend.

5-4, Och near the lake...
Went back yesterday evening and it was about the same song and dance. Caught the majority on crickets. Fished from 5 till 8pm and ended with about 30 keepers. They seem to be in the river as opposed to the backwater shallower areas. Caught a couple of nice catfish accidentally that just hit a wiggle...

5-3, Ochlocknee near the lake...
Me and pops put in at 90 right after daylight. Went down about halfway to the lake and started trolling the edge of the river. Bluegill and Shellcracker don't seem to be bedding up in the river. Caught a few in the sloughs but most were out in the main channel. Caught over 50 and kept about 25 nice ...

Re: shore fishing
One of my favorites is along the Ochlocknee just above Lake Talquin at picnic point. Not as much traffic as the landings and docks. It's on a tract of State Forest and you get to it off of Central Rd. in Midway. There's also a trail off of the nearby loop rd on the same tract of state forest that ta...

Never up that far, but I've run them just above and below Hwy 90. with some success.
