Re: 4-8 Ochlocknee near the lake

Yeah, those are all different gators too. And that was only the 4 I got pics of. Saw at least 8-10 more. Had a guy tell me yesterday at the bait shop that he stayed out late bass fishing around coe and had one crawl halfway in the back of the boat trying to get at his fish. He was in the front and h...

Re: 4-10 Ochlocknee near the lake...

Most everything I caught was in 2-4ft of water within 4 ft of the bank/grasslines. They were most all full of roe but didn't seem to be beddin yet. The shellcrackers were the exception. They didn't bite like they were on the bed but they were only in a couple of sandy bottom areas so they must be ju...

4-10 Ochlocknee near the lake...

Went back today after work. More of the same. The river is actually rising pretty quickly it appears. I thought it was dropping when I was out Tuesday beause it was about 10 inches below the water mark on the trees but yesterday it was only about half that. It's hossin but if you get back in the bac...

Re: Lake Talquin 4,5 April 08

I'm sure you're right. Looking at it on a map it does look pretty winding. I'm never in that big a hurry when I'm fishing, anyway. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Re: Lake Talquin 4,5 April 08

Yeah, I usually fish that area from the river to Williams. I know some of the paths through there but that stretch from the curtain to williams always slows me down to a crawl. I'll be glad when they drain next time so I can mark the channel.

4-8 Ochlocknee near the lake

Put in at 90 and went down the river yesterday. The bream were bitin real good from about noon till 3, although it was high and muddy so I really wasn't expecting em too. Caught about 40 but only half or so were keepers. The bigger story was how many freakin gators were out and about. They were ever...

Re: Lake Talquin 4,5 April 08

I was out there yesterday an it IS muddy. You're right about people running crazy across the lake. I've been fishing it for years and have a general idea of where the channel is but it isn't enought to make me brave enough to run wide open across it. I have a hard time believing that the out of stat...
