Re: Bad Perko?

I attempted to disconnect the batteries so I could perform the continuity test. As soon as I put the socket wrench on the negative terminal for battery #2 I discovered that the nut was loose. I tightened the nut, and throughly checked all the other connections, put the Perko in position two and the ...

Bad Perko?

I have a used boat with two batteries in parallel. For the past six months I have taken the boat out at least twice per month. Every time I would go out on battery #1 and operate all the electronics with #1, and when it was time to return to dock I would switch to battery #2. Everything was going fi...

Econfina - 9/22

Fished from sunrise to sunset. Caught a lot of fish. A real mixed bag. Lots of short trout, some sea bass, a few lady fish, a couple of blue runners, some cats and lizardfish. All the fish were caught in 5 - 8’ either on jigs worked near the bottom or Gulp jigs under a cork. New penny was the best p...

Econfina - 9/14

Fished out of Econfina from 7 am to 1 pm. Started around Rock Island. Tossed live shrimp and top water lures. Nothing. When the wind started blowing hard we just drifted. Tossed Gulps and Zmans and live shrimp. Managed a mix bag of short trout, sea bass, and lady fish. The fish seemed to be hanging ...

St Marks 8-31

Catfish, sharks, and pinfish. No bites shallower than 10’, except the pinfish. Caught pins all over the place. Hooked a tarpon in the river, but the hook didn’t set. Talked with a guy at the cleaning station who had a nice red and some mackerel. He caught them early in the morning, but I didn’t pres...

Re: Game cam on public land

I put trail cameras in the local WMA’s all the time. No locks. I am careful to put them in locations that are very difficult to get to. Been doing it for ten years now. I had one cheap camera get taken, but I was careless and put the camera close to a logging road that had a very active game trail c...

Econfina 6/30

Went fishing out of the Econfina River. Loaded up the livewell with pinfish and drifted the flats in 5 - 7 foot depth range. We fished the last two hours of the incoming tide and only caught baby sharks. Had to leave earlier than planned. I wanted to fish different depths and try a few spots to the ...

St. Marks 6/15

First post...Took my dad and two boys out to St. Marks Saturday. We did okay. Took home two keeper trout. The trout were caught on pinfish under a cork in 6 - 8 ft during the incoming tide. The largest trout was caught out front of the lighthouse. Other fish we landed included a big stingray, 4 ft l...
