Keaton Beach accomodations?
Looking for reasonably priced accommodations in Keaton area for 2-3 midweek days in early May, for two people. Don't need anything fancy, and does not need to be on the canal.

Rock garden 4/14
Drifted the Rock Garden for a few hours Friday. Gorgeous day, few boats out, water clarity was good. 3 keeper trout out of many shorts, ladyfish and blues all over the place. White Gulp and suspending Mirrorlure worked best.

Does anyone know, is the Rotary reef area inside or outside the 9 mile state waters boundary?

Re: Poll: Has flats fishing gotten worse over the years?
I think its tougher as well compared to 8-10 years ago. I believe one factor in this is that many former offshore fishermen now fish inshore mostly or altogether. I have several friends who have sold their offshore boats as they view it as just not worth the cost of these trips for the limits/season...

Re: Positive Rant on Coastal Trailer.
I agree this is the place to go for your boat trailer work. I had them do a lot of work on my trailer a couple of years ago and while I may have been able to get it done cheaper somewhere else, I am a firm believer that it is worthy paying a little more for quality work.

Re: Was the old St George Island bridge damaged?
I saw people fishing both ends of it last weekend.
St. George and the Apalach area got nothing much from the storm but a little wind and a small surge. We had a weekend reservation for a campsite in the state park and it was back open Saturday with no damage.

Re: Venice., LA
No place like it. No telling what you will catch when you get way down the river toward the jetties. It's a trip riding over the wakes of the ships and crew boats you will pass going down the main Mississippi River channel. This time of year, though, the river is high and fast and carrying lots of d...

I would not miss the opportunity to fish with C.A Richardson as JT suggested if you can get him on your dates.
