Re: Couple guns for sale

The Iver Johnson appears to be a "second model" due too the presence of the split "safety trigger". This would put it probably around 1897-1908. My father was an FFL until recently and I remember him having one of these in the shop for a while. I thought it was pretty neat that i...

Re: Thursday Morning 5-31

Cape San Blas is a good camping spot for the family. Beautiful beaches for the family, and the bay on the other side.

Re: Kids fishing rodeo Panacea

No problem. Just an FYI, they are very vague with the info about it. You don’t “register” until you weigh in a fish. You can start fishing before the 11:00 advertised time. I am taking my daughter out near piney island in the kayaks and see what she can catch.

Anybody else doing the kids fishing rodeo in Panacea this weekend? Weather permitting I will have one of my kids entering.

Re: Cape San Blas

Yeah, the biggest thing I had at the moment was a penn pursuit 4000. I've got a 6000 that I didn't bring on that trip but will next time.

Re: Cape San Blas

That's more true than you would think. Two of the trips I have been on in the past month I ended up loosing a nice catch due too not having a heavy enough setup. I plan on remedying that here shortly by carrying a heavier setup in my selection. I'm still new to the yak fishing and learn something ev...

Cape San Blas

Did some camping this weekend at the state park and Cape San Blas. The water clarity on the bay side was very clear and made for some great kayaking. Took my youngest daughter kayak fishing for the first time. We ended up catching a lot of lady fish, a few jacks, a grunt and a few other oddballs. We...

Re: Tues.. bottoms rd

I covered a lot of that area during the tournament and only ended up with 3 trout. 2 were aroung 14" and 1 keeper. All 3 of them were caught in the channel area during low tide between piney and the mainland. It was my first time fishing the area so I didn't plan on doing spectacular.

Re: Rock the Dock results

The weather was great aside from some bad wind that kicked up on Saturday. I heard that it blew some canopies around in the park. It caught me trying to cross back from piney island n my kayak and forced me to turn back. Had to cut across at more of an angle to take the waves head on.

Re: Levy Bay

Ended up not going on Saturday due too taking the family kayaking the Wakulla river. I did manage to get away on Sunday, but the winds were pretty bad when I got to the ramp on bottoms rd that I decided not to chance it. I did check out skipper bay rd and put in on the tidal creeks for a while. Didn...

Rod and reel found!!!

I found a rod and reel on Sunday in the Panacea area. If it’s yours message me with where u lost it and describe it. It’s not a high dollar setup but I’m sure someone is missing it.

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't planned on using a stringer for that exact reason.

Levy Bay

Looking at putting out in the yak this weekend on bottoms rd to try the Levy bay Piney island area. I have never fished this area and am just getting into kayaking. Any areas tips or areas to hit or avoid? I was looking at possibly heading left of the ramp and trying up the feeder creek and the area...
