Re: Sweet St. Mark's Grouper
I know all about the home field mentality while fishing.

Re: Where's a good place or 2 to snatch mullet this winter?
Fishing was the last thing I needed to be doing because I need to get my pecans off the ground but my cousin invited me to go Saturday and I ate all his food at Thanksgiving Thursday so...lol! And I had to work at my part time job Friday night and it went long...ugh. But now that it's over I'm so gl...

Re: Where's a good place or 2 to snatch mullet this winter?
I have snagged a few in the summer time in the rare cases where they were thick and not moving 1,000 mph, but I've found that the best way is to be patient with them biting. Snagging does work though. When they do start biting though, they're like tame pond bream! I'm assuming they hang in the creek...

Re: Where's a good place or 2 to snatch mullet this winter?
Is this still happening this weekend or is it not cold enough? I won't make it but I'd like to hear the stories and see the pics.

I don't know much about Snook but I've seen Sheephead in a certain little river that connects to another river through a mad made canal, that connects to the ocean. Fish do whatever they want lol!

Re: Rivers being dry.
I personally believe that freshwater fish can swim underground, aka through springs, sinks etc. I can't prove it but there are to many clues. They always come back after droughts, floods, even pollution when polluted areas actually get cleaned up. And they always know what to do and where to go ahea...

Re: Where's a good place or 2 to snatch mullet this winter?
I'm already ready lol! Low tide? High tide? How do you know where to even start? I guess it's clearer out there that time of year though. I don't think I've ever been on the flats in the winter besides when I was a child. I've heard of them bunching up at the actual rise to but I've never seen any e...

Re: Sharks or Gators?
I want to say we had another thread here where I shared this story but here goes. I'm not really scared of gators (so you don't think I'm trying to sound macho I will admit to being cautious of snakes, and straight up scared of getting roughed up on the flats) but I would prefer to not be within 34,...

Where's a good place or 2 to snatch mullet this winter?
My summer fishing got cut short in about June :smt010 :smt010 :smt010 :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: . My next trip will either be Speck fishing which I consider myself pretty dang good at or mullet snatching which I have never done. I have caught mullet the old fashioned way, and while I'm not yet what...

Re: Chum block
Well I'll be danged...range cubes for cows. I've heard of the St Johns River spot. It's fished by people as far away as Atlanta from what I've heard.

Re: Chum block
Do you mean range cubes like for cows? I've also heard the salt block suggestion and tried it today, along with a burlap bag full of mash and a brick in fast, black water, the worst old fashioned mullet fishing conditions lol! I have never seen Goose Pasture as black and full as it was today in Augu...

Re: Chum block
Do eating size mullet come to these things if you leave them out long enough? I have pretty good luck with the chicken mash method river fishing in calm water but I'm still looking for a trick that would help in faster water where there seem to always be more mullet but less action if that makes any...

Re: Trout by St. Mark's Lighthouse
I wonder if it was the guy at the end of the jetty. He looked like he knew what he was doing. I knew what I was doing to...which is why I didn't get my hopes up lol I was looking for mullet to catch the old fashioned way but fooled around and lost my fishing shoes and I didn't feel like cutting my f...
