Re: Culvert full of giant Shellcrackers, Bass and Mullet
I went to Welaunee Creek today thinking that atleast the mudholes on the way there would be dried up which they were. The creek and river looked great, the best I've seen in a long time. The Wacissa has struggled over the years but today it looked great. It will usually dry up 2 dang days after a fl...

Re: Diawa reel info
I can't recall those 2 specific reels but I've owned several Daiwas from every price range. They were all the smoothest, easiest to use reels that you couldn't backlash if you tried. There was a huge catch though - the line guide quit moving in less than a year. I don't know how in the world they ma...

Re: Mandalay
I've been treated to many flats fishing trips out of Williams Landing, and have put in myself many times but since all I have is a Gheenoe and a Jon I always go up. I'm sure I've said this before but I'm not scared of snakes, gators, half Pirraanah Blackfish infested upper Aucilla spots (lol!) or an...

Culvert full of giant Shellcrackers, Bass and Mullet
Ok not really...but kind of. I have a new truck which I'm in no hurry to rag out so most of my flood stage fishing spots are off limits. I do have 1 nice little culvert that I bet a few of you could guess the location of that I caught 5 Stumpknockers out of and several 10 inch bass. Bass out of plac...

Re: Horn Spring
There was 1 cypress tree laying across the river the last couple of times I went pretty far up (15 years ago maybe) that I wouldn't doubt was the world record. You'd have to literally drag your boat across it like when you were dragging it in the yard rather than just slip over it like other logs. A...

Re: Horn Spring
Did anybody ever try this? I've always wanted to try it but it's been on the back burner since Natural Bridge is 1 of those places they'll probably never close off. My father took me to Horn Spring and the old wooden bridge alot back in the day.

Re: Steinhatchee Memorial Day weekend
There's always 1 insane posthurricane/tropical storm/snow storm fishing report...was this it? I haven't seen 1 yet. Gosh knows I don't have 1. Anymore water around here and the fish will need a boat.

Re: 3-11-12 WEEKEND ADVENTURE (lotta pics/video)
If that last stretch of Wacissa isn't rapids, then I don't want to see rapids lol! That far down it's actually more to do with tidal influence that the actual river level. A blogger who I read back in the dial up internet days actually proved this when he was mad that that last cool rock wasn't visi...

Re: Looking for a Scenic Ride
Lol wow we got everybody mentioned but the St Marks, which is understandable because while very beautiful the only way to paddle is up if you put in legally anywhere beyond the swampy part. Even the Pinhook...refuge vehicles used to go in through the Flint Rock gate and clean the garbage up up until...

This is definitely 1 for the book ay G-Droze? I used to ignore wounds like somebody said. Glorify them even...I'm tough, didn't hurt etc but I learned my lesson recently when I checked up on a pal who I hadn't heard from in a while. They got this crud and lost their foot. Looking back I should have ...

That isn't even dirty by many people's standards lol some people's boats have rings around the bottoms worse than most unclean toilets.

Re: Caught a little catfish while speck fishing
I bet he did a number on your Speck rig! I've caught 2 Catfish on Beetlespins believe it or not. 1 was tiny out of the upper, borderline swamp, Aucilla River. The other was a huge Catfish out of a creek associated with the river, in a small area where the creek had been dug out. I was also Speck fis...

Re: Tagged Cobia Recaptured After 239 Days
I'm so glad that more and more proof the survival of caught and released fish is showing up. It wasn't that long ago that the general opinion on saltwater fish was that all released ones die for a few reasons that we all know makes it different that freshwater catch and release. They're even catchin...

Re: Bill Dance ramming his leg on the trailer hitch
I have all 3 original DVDs!!!!!!!! The first being the combination of the 2 tapes from the 80s. I love them lol! The snake from the tree is the funniest snake incident, but the SCARIEST is the 1 (as scary as the tree 1 was) is where the snake climbed in the canoe.

Re: Find a spring, catch a mess of mullet
I don't remember the details because it's been years ago, plus I've basically tried to forget this period in my life which was a nightmare (lol!) but there is something like a peddler's license when it comes to selling watermelons on the side of the road like I used to do. Obviously fish are a whole...
