Or, you could --- this is crazy so stick with me --- stay the F home so we can get thru this before summer time? Just an idea. Whats the problem with going fishing I dont get it? My boat is in a slip(also have one in dry storage). Drive to boat, and go fishing. Probably don't wanna stop for bait, i...

It appears so. https://www.wctv.tv/content/news/Florida-Governor-issues-statewide-stay-home-order-569286471.html The order lists the following as essential activities: Attending religious services Participating in recreational activities such as walking, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, running, or...

Re: Marinas: Essential
I was wrong they have in fact included Marina's as essential. It got very confusing in the language and with the old order being amended vs a new order. Even mentioned outdoor recreation such as boating and fishing as being okay. Either way stay 50' while at anchor and no crowds of 10 or more and go...

Section 1.B. of Governor DeSantis' stay-at-home order (Executive Order no. 20-91) states among other things that "all persons in Florida shall limit their movements and personal interactions outside of their home to only those necessary to obtain or provide essential services or conduct essent...

Re: Marinas: Essential
The new order today specifically mentions “fishing” as essential under the Recreation clause. So I assume marinas will continue to operate in furtherance of that. Re: How far have you been up Pinhook Creek (River)?
Yep after a little tinkering a DIY project is about to happen. I was thinking heavy duty fence post with a notch the width of the back of the boat in the middle, and wheels on the side because I have a bunch of posts laying around. PVC is obviously another option. Me and motorcycles don’t get along...

Re: Marinas: Essential
Based on the executive order from the DeSantis administration today, marinas are considered essential services. This was based on the Miami-Dade regulations that allowed them to stay open... That's surprising. If they aren't getting business it's something else. Maxed out parking at the fort and shields on saturday and sunday. River, flats and offshore are as busy as ever.edif wrote:Heard today Shell Island is seriously considering closing due to lack of traffic.

How long until they close the boat ramps?
They closed mashes sands and shell point beach. If there's another weekend like last weekend with 4-5 boats rafted up at the sandbar and up the wakulla I feel like they'll close the boat ramps and force marinas to close. They are doing it all up and down the florida coasts and because of our relativ...

Re: Lanark Lady Calling for Closure of Boat Ramps
I saw a smaller scale sandbar party up the wakulla river last weekend. Seems like a time to set your own anchor if you want to go swimming/partying rather than raft 4 or 5 boats up.. Looks bad.
There's been pics floating around facebook of local sandbar's/rivers behaving very similar to miami was.

Re: Flats reports???
Water temp was 74.5 in front of the lighthouse. Only had an hour or fishing. My friend's high school daughter set the hook on the biggest tarpon i've ever seen. Probably 5' and cleared the water, spit the hook(10lb test), simply trout setup.. Top 5 moment and I wasn't even fishing. Happened 15' from...

Re: Local shore fishing spots in Wakulla/Tallahassee
One of my favorite spots this time of year are in the St Marks Refuge @ the lighthouse. You can park at end and dead ahead are the grass flats. Topwater will work well and of course live bait. There's tons of fiddler crabs in the sand around there. Bring something to sift them. You can also park at ...
