Trailer question?
Just got a new (new to me) 21 Pro Line Sport on a tandem trailer. Pulling it with a GMC Sierra 1500. The trailer is a 2005 (same as the boat and motor). Boat originally came with surge brakes and have sense been removed. Does it make sense to put brakes on the trailer? If so, whats best? Electric or...

20' Pro Sports Pro Angler FOr Sale (or possible trade)
Got a great skinny water flats boat for sale. 1999 Pro Sports Pro Angler with 1999 200 Yamaha V-Max 2 stroke for sale. Sits on a 1999 tandem trailer with 2 new axles (2016), hangers, hubs, springs and 4 new tires. Asking $12,900 or possible trade for either a bay boat or small off shore boat (20'-23...
Re: Kingfish
All good advice. 20+' and stinger rig under a cork. I like to just drift with a pin fish or grunt about 6' under the cork. Suggest you go to Bass Pro and buy some "hook weights". Smaller than the small shot weights and you can use just enough to weight to keep your bait down.

Re: Bonus fish trip saturday
Hook Tarpon twice in the last couple of years with popping cork and trout rig but never got past the second jump. Last year I was checking my phone messages and the damn thing yanked the rod and reel out of the boat!. One jump and he was off.

Re: Finding Live Bait
If you are looking for Grouper, Kings and Cobia, don't overlook grunts for bait. They work great! Same idea with a little gulp on the hook. Do suggest you make or buy a heavier Sabiki than what you use for pins. Grunts get big enough to filet and even though that's not what you want, they are plenti...

Carrabelle Kingfish
Booked an all day charter with Captain Chester with Natural World Charters this past Sunday and had a great day on the water. Caught and released several red grouper, a nice gag and had a blast with the Kingfish. Fishing 30'-35' with grunts under a cork. Put two nice ones in the boat and had several...

Re: April Fools Day
Bman is exaggerating just a bit. I know because I caught that blue marlin two hours later (I know it was the same fish because it had that very same purple/silver Mold Craft chugger in the corner of his mouth. Weighed in at 581.6lbs. Took almost 3 hours to land him. Caught him on my Sabiki while loo...

Re: St Mark's This Weekend
Fished East of the lighthouse yesterday and had a great day. Find 5'-6' of water with grassy bottom and you're there. Found that shrimp did better than gulp and also, not many pin fish yet. Not much success with the sabiki.

Re: Lanark, Oh Crap and Seatow
Question…… Obviously everyone commenting are big Sea Tow fans. Ive had Boats U.S. for the last 5 years and they have been great. Had to use them twice. Both times when out of the water and trailer issues (extra $15 a year for trailer coverage is a no brainer). Whats the advantage (if any) of Sea Tow...

Re: Bitten off
Yup. Got 2 Blue's last week on the East Flats last week. With that said, it is about time for the Spanish to arrive. As for the leader, I use 30lb mono and do fine with the trout. Get bit off occasionally but the best option if not running a wire leader.

Any CPA's on the forum?
Re-financing my home. Filing an extension for 2016 Income Taxes. Lender said no problem but if not filing, need a profit and loss statement from a CPA. Anybody on the forum a CPA and able to assist?

Luckywsp,
I agree. Just thinking that the drop off increases as you head West so perhaps might be an option in Franklin County waters.

Charter advise please!
Hoping to set up an off shore charter for grouper for the first week of April. Understand it needs to be in Franklin, Wakulla, Taylor, Jefferson counties as the season opens on 1 April in these specific counties. Hoping for a recommendation.

Trout on the flats….They're here!
Put the boat in at the lighthouse yesterday morning about 7:30 and eased back to Big Creek and then over to Stoney. A lot of wind. Not much to report there. Just a short red and a BLT (barely legal trout). By about 1:30 decided to make out way out of Stoney and decided to hit the flats just South. G...
