Re: Lake Talquin Sept 25-26 - Early Fall Bass tactic help
I haven't been in a few weekends, so I'm not positive on the temp. It was mid 80s and falling two weeks ago. Best place to start would be mid way back into creeks, looking for shad or schooling fish. Then, slowly move out to any off shore humps you can find in the mouths of the creeks. There will su...

New personal best red !
So, my brother called me and said he had a big red break him off yesterday while he was fishing in a canal at lunch. I set off this morning, really just looking for places in the area to launch kayaks in the future. We fished his spot, and some others he had found, but had no bite or action the enti...

Re: first time at Oyster Bay
Thank you all. Yeah, I know Mike is a good guy and wants to make it right. I don't feel right hitting him up for 3 years worth of spoons though, after the 3rd or 4th, its my fault for buying them. I know all about the hook problem he had..... But IME it has not been fixed. I have bought ADL spoons t...

Re: first time at Oyster Bay
Well, I will say this. Capt mikes aquadream spoons are the best spoon around by far. For one use. Then, the very next time you go, that hook WILL break off. Doesn't matter how well you take care of it, or rinse it, or any other factor. For at LEAST 3 years now, every single one I have bought, includ...

Re: first time at Oyster Bay
IMHO, You can save time, effort and money- and just use a topwater and a gold spoon. Also in that area, the redfish magic spinnerbait works really well. I stopped using live bait years ago- 99% because all I ever did was feed baitstealers or catch trashfish with it. That whole time first thing in th...

Re: St. Marks Report Saturday 9/5/15
Great story! It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this isn't the same gator that hung out at the long bar a year or so ago, that would politely follorw your kayak around. He never got close....50yds or so, but he was definitely moving with you! After the second time it happened to me, I felt no f...

Ahh.... I see that gator is back. Lol. The last two years, that big boy has been hanging around the long bar off and on. Followed me around in my kayak a few times. Hasnt ever been an issue...yet. Just some pucker factor to relate to friends.
Great fish! Thanks for the report!

Re: Which Kayak to buy at Sporting Goods Store
The pescador is just a rebadged old tarpon. Its a great boat at a great price. wilderness way is the place to go for all your kayak needs.....and they sell off their rental fleet at extreme discount if you want to hold out for a higher end yak. The ride over at fcka.net classifieds is a deal! Great ...

Way to go, welcome aboard, and nice fish!
