Re: New trout rules
Thanks for the response Chris! After thinking on it a bit more, what you guys thoughts about requiring that all fish over 19" be released year round? A fella can't keep a 28" Redfish, why should he keep a 21" trout (note: I have kept a couple that size and bigger). I wouldn't disagree...

Re: New trout rules
As a seasonal (fall/winter) angler I'd be interested to see the opinions of why closing catch and keep in Jan/Feb would benefit the fishery much. From what I understand that is a time when the fish receive relatively minimal fishing pressure. Meaning, shutting it down in Jan/Feb provides less benefi...

Navionics Chip Updated - won't load in Humminbird
Fellas, this is my challenge. The East Gulf Navionics Platinum Plus chip had been working perfectly in my Humminbird 997 C SI. I bought the chip about 9 months ago and received 1 year of free updates. Decided to do the update recently. Everything seemed to go perfectly and the update was completed. ...

Re: Jaws Moment
I know that something like this wouldn't make it up into Apalachee Bay but they're over towards the panhandle.

Re: Jaws Moment
We saw some more big bulls today. It’s been almost every day now. Appreciate the heads up as I enjoy walking the bars and casting a fly. I'm thinking ankle deep is about as far as I'll be going in this trip which will be spent entirely in Apalachee Bay. A buddy of mine has seen some Tiger Sharks in...

Is there anywhere to launch a kayak in the area, other than the Lanark Boat Club Ramp?

Nice. I live in Montana and get down to Apalachee Bay whenever I can. If you go driftboat shopping, a Koffler is a good choice. I have the RMT model.TCSO122 wrote:I am relocating to Colorado. I wouldn’t buy anything but a SeaArk when it comes to aluminum.

TCSO, I remember when you were shopping and was wondering why you decided to move away from the SeaArk and what you're planning to move to. I fish out of a SeaArk 1860 MVT and am interested in your response.

SOLD right away. I maybe should have asked for more. Buyer said it looked brand new. Aaah, don't beat yourself up. You got what you thought was a fair price and it was. More importantly, what did you switch to? I have a Jackson Big Rig and am considering selling it and moving to a Native pedal kayak.

Re: Fishing Report
I don't facebook either but was able to watch the report. All seems fine to me. AI/Evan - Thanks for the report! I liked it, especially the dude talking about fishing on surface. I'm coming down to fish in a few weeks and while I am pretty much FFO (fly fish only) I have some surface flies that I'm ...

Re: Inshore boat review?
TCSO, perhaps you've found a boat since this thread died. I shopped for a Seaark for a few months and bought an 2012 1860 MVT Pro from a guy in Tallahassee a few weeks ago. Has a 70 Yamaha 4 stroke and twin 10' power poles. It's gonna be named the Bar Hopper if you happen to see it around. Really go...

Silverking, I have a few larger Deceivers and a bunch of Poppers, thoughts on the patterns pictured below? I was thinking the Tan one which I tied a bit larger. Thought I'd try the black one for Reds.
