The bay constantly changes...take a cast net. Hunt the LY's. Go behind Black's island, anchor so you can throw to points of grass and hang on. That really is an excellent strategy in St Joe. We fished hard today east of the lighthouse mostly in 8 feet or deeper. We weighed over 13 pounds for our best 5 fish. We released fish over 20". We caught cobia,grouper,rockbass,flounder and other assorted species. Trouttrent was supposed to go with me. He chickened out because of the weather...

Installed an inline filter and one of those magnet chokes like on computer cables. Ran it in the yard before and after big difference in the clutter on the screen. :thumbup: We will put in new resistor plugs before a water test, but I think its taken care of. :-D Thanks

The overlay depth stays correct but the depth on the screen may go to 2000' and you can't see enough detail to make out the bottom contour or fish echoes. Weird bottom machine problem.

A friend of mine has a Lorance LCX-18c and when the boat is running or underway the screen is scrambled but as soon as you shut off the moter it clears up. Any ideas????? :smt102 The boat has a 302 inboard.

In Mexico Beach the Driftwood Inn is excellent - the winter rates are very reasonable - might be hard to park a boat - the proprietor used to live in Tallahassee.
