Re: How far have you been up Pinhook Creek (River)?
I don't know how wide the trail is that you are talking about but I have a cart that is both easy to pull walking or riding a bike. This picture is of my buddy and the cart loaded down with lots of duck hunting stuff but basically it is two front forks of a bike, a welded frame with a basket welded ...

Re: gobble...gobble..
This weekend I hunted a wildlife management area that is maybe 20 minutes from the house. I have been there just to drive around but had not hunted it except this past weekend. I know how to hunt swamp turkeys and this WMA is a whole lot of upland with some swampiness to it. So Saturday after my hun...

Re: Proven Insect Repellent
Interesting about Proven. I may give it a try. Question though. is it an "oily" spray? I tried a spray this weekend that was VERY effective at repelling noseeums but it was incredibly oily and I felt gross just putting it on. It was worth it to keep from being eaten up but wow was I greasy...

New Boat Motors
Hey all. I am looking for a place in GA that sells new outboards. I am looking for 150 hp and am undecided on brand at this point. Of course it would need to be installed/rigged on the current boat. Are there recommendations on who to use?
Thanks a lot

Re: Refurbished Garmin electronics
Interesting on the power supply wire issues. Hopefully that isn't something that I will need to worry about with the Alpha. Thanks for the input

Refurbished Garmin electronics
Hey guys I am hoping maybe y‘all can help me out. I am looking to buy a Garmin Alpha. The difference between a new and refurbished one is $100. Has anyone ever bought refurbished Garmin units? Have you been happy with them? I know there is a one year warranty when they come refurbished from the fact...

Re: Hickory Mounds?
You can check the status of Hickory Mound, or any other WMA, here. Hickory Mound is in the North Central region https://myfwc.com/recreation/notices/ When I went out to see it a couple weekends back you could get to it from the Cow Creek Grade entrance, not through the Coker Rd entrance. It was bloc...

Re: Shotgun recommendation
Oh another thing to consider is weight of the shotgun. The lighter the shotgun, the more felt recoil you will have. That is why the Benellis seem like they kick more than others. They are lightweight and a dream to haul around the prairies, up and down mountains and on long turkey treks. But my budd...

Re: Shotgun recommendation
I have two Benellis. Both 20 ga. One is an M2 and the other a Montefeltro. I love em. I will echo what others have said about the recoil in these guns but if I shoot less than 1 oz shots it doesnt bother me too much. I seldom shoot three inch shells anymore unless I am turkey hunting or diver huntin...

Re: Deer velvet question
Very interesting and thanks for the link. Thanks a lot guys. We stayed there in that area for 10 days and that first day was the only day we saw those two boys so I don't know if he eventually did have a mass velvet shed-a-thon or not. So I assume that if it is testicular damage of some sort, they w...

Deer velvet question
Question for those more in the know. And YES I understand this is two different parts of the country, but I am still curious. I hunted in Montana much of September and again for a week in October (actually got to miss Michael since I flew out just before he graced FL with his presence). When we got ...
