Re: Angler Ethics?
Boat ramp drama (wow never thought I would use that as a phrase) is whole other can can or worms...a messier can. That's where the IDIOT comes out in people for sure.

Re: Angler Ethics?
No matter how old you get and how much you don't sweat the small stuff, this nonsense will always nip at your heels. Angler ethics are like good and evil trapped in a nutshell. The bad apples will never go away and they will never not bother the good apples! I've gotten so mad twice in the last year...

Re: Only a few more weeks.
I was treated to a trip yesterday and we caught plenty of fish but only 2 scallops. Meanwhile the radio was blowing up with confused scallop hunters. I'd never not seen any scallops where we were, including all the times my friend took me spearing mullet in much deeper water back in the day.

Re: Rod Repair Tallahassee
Had them for years and never had a problem with either trick! The fiberglass is kept off of the very tip/eye. Sure the fiberglass might corrode eventually but break? It's not like we're using the same amount to build a boat hull lol! And if it corrodes that's no different than what we started with. ...

Re: Rod Repair Tallahassee
Not a Kevin's fan at all. Ya'll will roll your eyes at this but here's what I've done to repair every rod tip of mine that has either corroded or busted the eyelet (which is basically every rod I've ever owned besides the few that had accidents like flat out breaking). I dip the tip in JB Weld. It's...

Re: Good Tide?
I am afraid. Lol! The way back is when I'd screw up. I'll go slow enough to not hurt anything on the rocks, but there are only 14 hours of daylight this time of year. And $!#% that happening out there lol anywhere but out there!!!!!!! So what it the shortest way as far as time that it takes and not ...

Re: Good Tide?
Went pretty far into the first creek you take when you go the back way today. The original trip was sabatoged by the rain so I did that for fun a little later. If that creek, which disappears on Google Maps, stays as deep and wide as it was where I turned around today (the fallen tree with old chain...

Re: Good Tide?
I'm thinking about heading out there tomorrow to go see the infamous Pinhook entrance for the first time ever in person. Is it safe in a Gheenoe? I'll turn my happy self around at the first sign of trouble with my pride intact. I know the Aucilla from top to...almost the bottom lol! Anything below ...

Re: Good Tide?
I can't help you with the Aucilla but I can shed a little light on the tides. I think sometimes we all seem to plan way too much around the tides. I can't tell you how true your suspicion really is!!!!!!!!! I won't get into it (people here seem to get defensive over anything that doesn't stack up w...

Re: Advice Newport Park
I recently watched a guy get stuck after backing up off the ramp. His full size pickup truck couldn't get the trailer back up. A few guys finally helped out with the old bouncing up and down on the bumper trick and what happened next I'll never forget - the trailer shot up, crashed back down and bro...

In the grass plastic worm, in the main stream Rebel Crawfish.
On another note I'm very upset about the shape that that river is in. Humans are slowly destroying it.

Re: Fresh water mullets
I've had the best luck mullet fishing this year than any year before. The only thing stopping me now are the dadblasted boats scaring them off every 5 minutes. I'm trying to think of a good low key place to go tomorrow where there won't be any of that. What about the Suwannee River bridge (or that n...

Fishing Intel is like money. I'll give somebody 1 of my last 2 pennies if they need it, but not anybody if that makes any sense.

Re: Lost a rod and reel today
Women! I've lost a few rigs myself but a female was the reason I lost my brand new baitcasting setup, which was an even bigger deal because I had just gotten into the whole baitcasting thing. And it was an even bigger bigger deal because whatever took it wasn't a small fish or a trash fish :smt013 :...
