St. Marks 4-13-15
Went out from 8 am to 2 pm. Went south of the lighthouse and east. The bite was very slow with east wind. Only brought one Spanish home. Tried cast netting bait in the boat channel in the morning with little found on the lower tide (the bait were everywhere there when we were returning :P). A rapala...

Re: What a crap weekend!
Yes it's hard to make a call about the weather this time of year. I'm planning to take two pastors fishing tomorrow and give them the catch. So my hope is that they will be successful and the wind will stay down in the morning.

Re: What a crap weekend!
That looks like a great game! You never know, it could be the next olympic sport. A couple of guys want me to take them out from the lighthouse tomorrow morning. I'm trying to make up my mind because fishing in the wind, much less rain is not so much fun. SOUTH WINDS AROUND 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEE...
Re: Fish Quiz
Yes, both mackerel good job. Extra point to those that said king (top) and a spanish mackerel. I got this pic off the web. Juvenile king mackerel can look almost identical to a Spanish. FWC may care -- king 24" to the fork. Two things to look at: 1) the dorsal fin for a king is silver to smokey...

Re: Piney Island 4-10
Sounds like a fun day. I love catching blues when they are chasing bait. And I there's something so fun about catching bass in a coastal river to me. I've been out of St. Marks a couple times this month and it was easy to catch trout in 2-3 foot of water. Kings from a pontoon boat at St. Marks? Did ...

Re: Newer to the Area need help
You're welcome to go with me inshore fishing in a 21' carolina skiff if we can coordinate it. You'd just need a saltwater license. I'm not the best fisherman on here but i almost always catch something. Probably others would take you on their boat too. Ditto on the advice from others.

Sounds like it was a good day on the water. It seems like the fishing would be better right now.

Re: cobia off the lighthouse
Great thread. Thanks for sharing your experience Silverking & Whoopty. I never saw the light in the lighthouse when it was on, but wish they would fire it up again. I'm wondering how plentiful the cobia are inshore. Have you caught more than two in one day?
