Yes to both - clear water although lately it is a little cloudier with suspended algae. Because of the clear water you get vegetation - coontail. milfoil or hydrilla - growing up to the surface.

Lake Hall

I fished it this morning - Sunday June 20. It was very slow, only caught 2 - a dink and a 14". It was still, hot and muggy. I don't think anybody else was catching much, although the afternoon may have picked up with the wind (and lightning). I'm going to give dropshotting a try - that may work...

Lake Hall

I took the pictures on a disposable camera. I've got 7 exposures left, so think I'll go outside and take 7 pictures of my trashcan! I'll post when I get the photos developed and scanned.

Took some pictures then released it. Caught 3 other decent bass, 15-17 inc...

Lake Hall - today a.m.

Fished Lake Hall today from 7:30 - 12:00. Picked up 5 in the first 2 hours then nothing. 2 dinks, 3 15" and fat. Used senkos along the pads again, but did have two misses on a 10" grubworm buzzed on the top. Another boat picked up a couple a little bigger in size - think they were trolling...

Maclay Gardens State Park - about 200 acres, clean , deep - only electric motors. I was using the 6lb along the banks - they all run to a certain size, about 12"-15". Once the vegetation has fully bloomed, 6lb test won't work (even though I think that pline would test out stronger than 6lb...

boat for small lakes / ponds

I've sold my kayak and am looking for a small, light boat that I will fish alone out of most of the time. Sometimes I will have a buddy or my two kids. I fish Lake Hall 99% of the time for bass. So far its come down to either a 15' gheenoe or a 12 - 14ft john. Any other suggestions?
