Re: Scallop Advice
Headed toward Keaton while watching radar Saturday morning and storm hanging over Keaton not moving. When we hit 98, we took a right instead of a left and went to St. Mark's. Only my 11-year old son and me. We took our time and enjoyed ourselves. Mostly stayed out from Rock Garden and could have fil...

Scallop Advice
Looks like we got a last minute chance to get some scalloping in this weekend. We normally wait until mid-August or so before we go. Looking for any advice -- we typically go to St. Marks or Keaton (Grassy Island). Any thoughts on which one? I also have noticed that scallops seem to be deeper in the...

Re: Want a hand held GPS
I just concluded a bunch of my own research on these and within the last two months purchased the Garmin GPSMAP 62sc. It will accept datacards to provide additional detail and has the external antennae which I considered a plus. My use of it so far has been good. I like the functionality of it. It s...

Re: Wakulla Reef/St. Marks Reef
A freelined live pinfish is usually good for a shark. 3 to 4 rooters were pretty common last time I fished it - a couple of years ago probably. Last time we were dropping some cut bait to the bottom, remoras were hitting it before we could get the bait down.

Re: Choctaw/Sandestin-long post
Onefish, I have stored a boat at SanDestin (once and only once) and my story is identical to yours starting with the call that it is fine to bring a boat to the shakedown at the guard gate to the waiting at the boat lot gate for someone to get there to the trying to figure out which of the four doze...

Mexico Beach Kings
Has anyone been trolling for kings at PSJ/MB in the last couple of weeks. We were down about three weeks ago and it seemed that they weren't quite in yet. Was curious about buoy line, car bodies, etc.

Re: Wasp Question - PIC ADDED ***
I often have those get under our picnic table in much the same manner. I have yet to be stung by one so I am not sure of their aggressiveness. In the instances that I have stirred them up (on accident of course), it seems that their primary concern is getting back to that spot -- perhaps explaining ...
