Re: Hall 'em In Wooden Plugs

I have several dozen wooden bombers. Most of them I acquired in the late 50's and 60's. That was the plug of choice on the Ocklocknee in the mid to late 60's. On a good weekend back then you could catch a hundred bass up to 5 pounds or so. My first experience in catch and release. I have quite a few...

Re: boat mishap!!

Allen Hobbs at Shell Island told that me it was an old dredge boat. Someone else told me also that it had been a dredge boat that lost a boiler and grounded.

Most unusual...

Couple days , ago son in law and grandson and I went to check some cameras..I was driving along a field road next to the woods when we turned a corner and saw a red tailed hawk sitting on something on the ground. When we got closer the hawk tried to fly with it. A large snake. It was too big for the...

Re: Lake Blackshear Help

TC, if you have a map locate Collins branch about halfway down the lake on the west bank. Its across from and south of cedar creek. From there down to the next slough (duckblind) there's some fine bank to fish. I used to fish tournaments there and a moccasin culprit usually was the ticket. If we hav...

Re: browning A-bolt for sale

hmmm.. 338 is a fine caliber for its intended purpose. I bought one back in mid 80's to elk hunt with and still have it. Shot it for the first time in some years awhile back and it's deadly accurate even with old ammo. It does have about 33-35 lbs of recoil though so kick is pretty stout. I expect h...

Re: TAKE A KID FISHING REPORTS

Think the little girl with the mackerel was my little fisherman. She had a ball with it . Also let her steer the boat for awhile, she loved that.

Re: TAKE A KID FISHING REPORTS

We took them and it went off great . Children had a ball ! Little windy to start with but fish cooperated anyway. The bite slowed about 10:30 at low tide. My little angler caught 11 different kind of fish according to my calculations. trout, blues, cats, a nice little shark, assorted junk.....ect. Li...

Re: Please Check out the PUPPIES I have for sale

Hunted in SW Texas last Nov and the ranch owner had about a dozen BMC's. Ran everything from lions to wounded deer with them. Awesome dogs. He had a litter of about 10 that were just a few weeks old. Gave a couple of the guys with me a puppy and we brought them back in a box in the back seat of my y...

Re: WTB pecks yellow sally fishing lure

I have thee or four yellow sallies made by Hildebrandt. I still fish them occasionally with a uncle Josh bass strip. WF Surplus in Albany had some on the shelf last time I looked..These have vinyl skirts instead of feathers though..

Re: dahlonega

Lots to do in and around Dahlonega.. I went to college there back in the early 60's but its really changed since then. From there on up to Cleveland and Helen and points north are really beautiful. Some decent trout fishing up there in the creeks and streams too..

Re: Latest Boat Project

Boat don't look bad to me either. I can remember the day I'd have loved to had it.. I had a 48 Evinrude once back in the late 80's. It was and still is tough as nails. Let a friend have it and its still running on a rent boat now. Only thing ever done to it was a carb kit and a new lower unit after ...

Re: Missing Angler

This story me want to start wearing one of those auto-inflate life-preservers.[/quote]

I bought one of those last week. A mustang. Stearns also makes them and Bass Pro has their own brand.
And I try to remember to always connect my kill switch. I'm a little too old to swim very far !
