Re: Crab trap etiquette
So all the nice looking traps all over the bars out of St Marks will remain to kill who knows how much of wildlife cant be reused? That law needs to change.

Re: towing
Sea Tow goes out of Shields and Tow Boat goes out of Shell Island. Both cost about the same and both captains are good people. Take your pick.

Re: Shark bait
Not sure where you heard there was a major fish kill. Pinfish and mullet populations were not even touched. Ladyfish and blues were still around that area yesterday too.

Rivers being dry.
I've seen several pictures of the Wakulla and St Marks rivers being almost dry during the storm. We all know that all of the water went to sea but what about the freshwater fish? I know they cant handle the salt do you folks think they went North or is it going to take a while for freshwater fishing...

Re: cell phone coverage on the water
My verizon phone (Iphone 6+) will pick up just about anywhere out of St Marks. I was 15 miles out the other day and it rang. It scared the crap out of me.

Re: Ochlocknee Bridge boat ramp?
Mashes Sands ramp is right around the corner from the ramp you mention. It is a great ramp for a small to medium size boat. The only problem with this ramp is that once you get outside of the canal, the channel can get pretty confusing without a gps.

Re: blue crab fishing
St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. Plenty of spots near the Lighthouse. Watch for any sunning gators. Folding crab trap or chicken neck on nylon twine and a dip net and you should be set to go. Plenty of nature to expose the grandson to and some nice trails/exhibits. Last time I checked St Marks o...

Nice video! As already noted, the fish is a lizardfish. We get them on a regular basis out of St Marks.

Re: Hickory Mound
We walk into Hickory Mound on a regular basis from the Econfina side. The road does not seem damaged at all but a warden told me that one of the culvert devices was damaged. I haven't seen anyone working on any repairs yet. For those willing to put in the time and effort to make the walk in, it sur...

Re: Reasonably priced fish market
I went in the new little fish market at the front office of the Flea Market the other day and talked to them for a while. I dont generally frequent fish houses but went in out of curiosity. They had good looking fish and great looking shrimp. I had to buy a couple pounds of the shrimp just to try th...

Re: Fished St. Marks last 2 Fridays
Sounds pretty close to what we have been doing. Last Saturday we had 3 keeper trout and a handfull of rockbass. I cant wait for fall either. On a good note, my brother limited on scallops out of St Marks yesterday and said the water was really clear. I didnt get a depth but I know he is too lazy to ...
