Re: Fishing/Boating Etiquette
We were working a bank and some guy just cuts around in front of us and anchors at the point we were working our way too (less than 200 yards away). We just shook our heads and picked up and moved.

A fun day
Tried some new spots we picked out on charts and overheads. We managed one nice red, although it looked like there should have been more there. The trout and spanish were all over the bar, just not much joy on the reds. Moved to another spot and we were catching catfish on jigs and ready to move on....

Re: Free Fishing Weekends
Got checked by the man on Sat. He said, since ya'll don't need fishing license this weekend, I guess I better check your safety equipment and any fish. We were on a release only trip, but two of them were foul hooked. One was actually still kicking, but we sent them home with a couple of Georgia fel...

Re: Boat Paint ?
After getting it down to bare aluminum and washing with vinegar, there are several brands of excellent self etching primers for aluminum. I did not go straight zinc chromate (I think is what it is), I just used a self etching primer on some custom made pods I had built. They look as good as the boat...

sorry your trip was ruined, but glad you could handle it and get back out there.
Re: Sad
I sold my first duck boat, (The Duck Slayer - not named by me, but by all the guys that had ridden in the little slow leaky thing and killed enough ducks over the years to sink it if put in all at once). It was a 14 foot riveted boat with a dent in the bow and a 5 hp Go Devil on it. I sold it for ne...
Re: St. Marks
Google earth shows about 40 miles or so if ya stay off where you can run. Like everyone says, depends on the weather. 3 hours sounds like you are safe time wise.

Very nice. Sounds like the cobwebs got worked.
Re: Flounder
I'll try that. The meat was a wee bit dry, but I was following a recipe from a friend. I'll try it. Thanks
Ethanoled
I got ethanoled. Not really my fault as the boat had the problem prior to me getting it. My boat guy said that Mercury lines have silicone and are bad to react with the ethanol. He rerigged my fuel lines and changed out the filters and the jets were pumping clear gas. Said the carbs were not damaged...

Re: Spinning rod for $100 or under
Thanks silver, but I already had a reel.
I went with a Shimano Clarus. I liked the feel of it and it matches my Sahara balance wise. We'll see how I feel about it in a few weeks of fishing.
