Re: Cedar Key Reports?

We went back this past weekend and got some local intel from the guy who's been running Number 4 channel for 35 years. It's a little complicated to run the deep route, but much closer to the good fishing spots and free. One red, two trout and one blue crab got in the cooler and will be joining us fo...

Re: Fish bit someone at St marks sandbar

There have been regular sightings since 2015, but last year was the first time I had seen one. http://www.saltwateranglersguide.com/?p=5808 Luckily I didn't any smooth puffers in Cedar Key this weekend and just one spiny one. and the puffer kept circling me like a horsefly with fins. Never had this ...

When you say a lot of water how much are you talking about? pint, quart, gallon?

Re: Econfina River Nav ?

I used to run the shortcut on higher tides. I guess that y'all are talking about running on the inside of Possum Gap Island? I have been lucky going that way as well. I've never been on an extremely low tide, but I've run that way several times. I've also taken the right side going out just down fr...

Re: Don't get gas at the sunoco in Woodville for awhile

where is a good location to purchase non-eth along the Woodville Highway route? I'm up here in northern Leon and like to gas up on the way back home. I usually get Non-E gas for the boat at Gulf Coast because they normally have the best shrimp around as well. San Marko Shell on the corner of Woodvi...

Re: Where to scallop this summer

Has anybody ever tried to catch scallops inside Alligator Point? From looking at the maps and charts it seems like there might be enough grass and sand in that area.

112 lbs of thrust is overkill for a boat that size.
I figured that out by finding that my 17' boat is recommended to have a 55lb thrust trolling motor :D

Re: Gag Grouper Trolling Setup

Seriously? 130+ people viewed the post and nobody has ever trolled for gags? I'm not looking for any spots, just want to know what line people prefer. I haven't tried to catch a grouper since 2002 when I had a bigger boat. I felt the same way when several hundred users viewed my question about Ceda...

I have always heard to set your cork at half of the depth of the water. Water depth depends on the water temp.

Re: Cedar Key Reports?

Tony's chowder was the first stop! I got to explore a lot of areas around the outside keys, I didn't want to run too close to the inside channels. Ramp fee was a little high, but its easy to launch. There was a tournament going on Saturday so the parking was packed. Several short reds and trout were...

Cedar Key Reports?

Does anybody fish around Cedar Key? I was supposed to go there the first weekend in May with my girlfriend's dad, but he can't make it. We still want to go, but I don't know the area very well.
