Re: Old Town Square Stern for 200 bucks
I don't own a camera. The transom fix is a matter of taking bolts out & replacing a small piece of rotted wood with a new piece. Maybe a $10 job. I may do it myself next weekend. Hull, interior transom, and bench seats are in great shape.

Re: Old Town Square Stern for 200 bucks
Oh great. I log back in thinking I have a buyer, and instead it's two guys pissing on each other's legs.
At least it was entertaining.

Above address shows what the new ones look like. This older one has same shape & construction materials, but firm wooden bench seats, rather than webbed seats. Will try to get a picture up by tomorrow.

Old Town Square Stern for 200 bucks
Used Old Town Discovery Sport 15' Square Stern. Oldie but a goodie. The exterior wood transom is pretty rough, but the interior section is solid. Hull/floor/gunwale/bench seats all in good shape. Rated for 5hp. Weighs about 115lbs. Set of oars AND set of paddles included. Selling cuz it is two inche...

Re: April 2011 Econfina NFGFC Tournament Results
Reel Cowboy: No hard feeling to the propsters. I scouted the day before, and knew what I was gonna be in for. That was my own fault for waiting to last minute to paddle back in a futile attempt to get that 5th slot trout! Ashley: Excellent job on the tourney. Thanks for all the work. It was worth fi...

Re: April 2011 Econfina NFGFC Tournament Results
I would not recommend paddling towards the ramp in an 11' canoe at 3:15pm while everybody else is planing to make weigh-in. First time I've ever been seasick on a river.

Re: April NFGFC Econfina Roll Call
I did spring for the expensive 3hp equivalent electric (lithium battery) motor, but haven't taken it out of the box yet. First use will definitely be on familiar water, so when I run out of juice I'll know exactly how far I gotta paddle... Hence the concern about Econfina. The gulf looks like quite ...

Re: April NFGFC Econfina Roll Call
Never been on the Econfina. Noticed a dirt road - "Mossy Hammock Grade" - on a satellite photo. It's across the river from the state park launch and appears to dead end at a side creek that empties into Econ about halfway to the gulf. Anybody know if that is private or public? Trying to fi...

Re: RED TROUT SHOOTOUT, AND THE WINNER IS?
St. Marks Refuge Creeks report: Got a 5-4 redfish early on a frisky mudminnow (no culling!), then spent the rest of the day pulling in 18-22 inch trout that didn't care what came at them. Swimming jigs actually outperformed freelined minnows in the creeks that day. The slot trout were suicidal. Lost...

Terrible news about "Mr. John"
One of my favorite aspects of heading to St Marks Refuge to fish was the ready smile and personal greeting from "Mr John" McKenzie, the toll booth operator. He was always gracious and happy to talk about the latest catches and wildlife sightings on the refuge. Horrible to see his picture o...

Re: FSU Fishing Club Tournament today
I have bit more info. The FSU tourney is always something of a poker game, since you can only weigh ONE fish in ONE category, and they don't announce how far the payouts go until after the weighing, so before they bring the scales out everybody is playing peek-a-boo into all the coolers. Weird, but ...

Re: Where are the slackers?
Just found out my sister-in-law is visiting with screaming toddlers this weekend...
...convinced my loving wife that I REALLY need to scout Keaton on Sunday.
So if area looks even halfway promising via kayak, I guess I'm in.

Re: Where are the slackers?
Can't afford a motorboat yet (even on my outlandish teacher's salary!). Never been to Keaton Beach, so I don't know if the area within a coupla miles of launch can work for kayak/wading. Won't do this tourney unless I get a chance to recon.
Anybody know if this is a good paddle/wade vicinity?
