No More Fishing Reports...

At least not any time soon. I'm moving to North Carolina, and I'll be a solid 4 hour drive to the coast. We'll have some good freshwater fishing in the area, Lake Rhodiss, Lake Hickory, and Lake Norman are all within a 30 minute drive, but I'll miss the power, variety, and complexity of saltwater fi...

Re: SGI inshore

Fished again this morning, starting before sunrise. Checked all the crab traps we saw, but saw no T-3's. Worked some shoreline with a spoon an topwater, and lost a big red, and landed an underslot red.

Tide went slack, and so did the bite...

Re: SGI inshore

Managed some beachfront trolling today, saw birds working bait schools, and got 3 nice Spanish, with the largest measuring 21". Attempted to head out to the SGI Bridge rubble, which was the closest in structure, but got run off by a thunderstorm before we could wet a line. Hoping that this TS h...

SGI inshore

Been fishing SGI this week with little success. We've caught trout, bluefish, and sailcats, but with no consistency. Despite fishing docks and structure with aqudream spoons, fresh crab chunks, and topwater, no redfish have bit us yet. We've drifted both the Sikes Cut and the West Pass with live pin...

Safety

Saw a guy today running a twin engine KW, pulling a knee boarder in the St. Mark's channel. There was relatively heavy boat traffic in both directions, and the passenger appeared to be a minor. I can't imagine what decision making process ( or lack thereof ) leads to doing this. It wouldn't take muc...

Re: June & July Offshore

Fished nearshore today and the water was HOT, and so was the bite! Landed 2 short gags, got sharked, brought up a monster ray, and boated two Spanish, one of which measured nearly 22". Lots of bait activity happening near the surface, all threadfins and Atlantic bumpers. I could have blacked ou...
