Re: Rod and Reels

I have a couple Shakespeare Tiger rods that I really like for trolling. One has a Shimano Baitrunner 6500 on it and the other a level wind reel. In both cases, when you are trolling the Mann's Stretch lures or other lipped baits, the rod tip bounces along with the action of the lure enough that you...

Re: Record Boat Sales

The real question is, when are the best used boat sales going to start popping up from this cycle? ;-) Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk I'm guessing 18-24 months, or sooner. Considering FL is the biggest boating market in the US, and highly dependent on tourism, and unemployment claims just s...

Re: Fryers

Why not an outdoor burner and fry in a stockpot? It works great for me for an occasional fish fry.

Re: Tarpon Bait

Just go down to Shell Island Fish Camp fish cleaning spot and throw some fish heads in the water. There's a Tarpon under the dock that looks like a Pit Bull when he swallows the fish heads! It startled me the first time I saw him :) The ones at the dock are BEASTS. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapat...

Re: June & July Offshore

Fished today in about 50'. Was able to chum up some red snapper again, but they were still shy despite a 3/0 hook and delicious fresh cut bait. Amberjacks were eager to eat as always, we landed one and broke off several others, all on live baits. The waters remained calm until about 2, and the wind ...

Re: Pilchards in Panacea?

Not sure about Pilchards, but you'll find schools of white bait offshore in about 20'+ of water

Re: ST Marks area Scallops

Looking for advise on where to find Scallops in ST Marks. We went out Sunday and found a few (12) but really could find them like I expected we were on the grass flats on the east side of the channel. It did get kinda rough and it was high tide so the water was a little deeper then we expected. Any...

Hoping for more offshore capability, Everglades 243, or possibly a cat that will keep me fishing the bay, but more comfortable in rough water.
